Wow. Sad. Many fond memories of watching him. Loved his dry sense of humor. The Ron Burgandy of Wichita.

Haertl, Teller, Close and Cornish were as good as it gets.

Agree, but add Jim O'Donnell and fellow Shocker Larry Hatteberg to the list. My wife and I are a little 'goofy' (I know, shock! shock!); we referred to Roger as Roger Cornish Hen.

          RIP Roger

Susan Peters worked at KWCH in the 80's, left in the early 90's, and then again at KAKE for about 20 years from 1995- was also very good, and is a loyal Wichitan.

The most seasoned of the posters, like me, might remember Cindy Close was a lead on Headline News before coming to ICT (when Headline News was actually a News source). I asked Roger once when our paths crossed how we got someone like Cindy here in Wichita...."She needed a job!" So dry, so good.

Rest in Peace Roger, you are and will always be missed.

Roger will always be my favorite anchor along with Cindy Close. Talk about a genuine person and willing to give his time to Wichita and Hutchinson as well as the smaller communities that make up South Central Kansas. He will be missed.

Everyone's been saying Cindy Close, but it's really Cindy Klose. Just ask Bob Hull.

There were great TV personalities in Wichita news but KWCH had the hammer with that team.
