Well, we are going to go look at some Grand Design and Jayco travel trailers tomorrow. What we’ve decided is that we must have:

    Seating and sleeping for 4
    a workable bathroom
Less than 28 foot and 7000 lbs

    Wants:

some level of privacy for the master bed
    outdoor kitchen
less than 25 foot and 5000 lbs
    Electric stand/awning
    Fiberglass exterior

Any other must haves I’m missing?

Thinking about inflation, I’m planning on financing this purchase in the near future.

Don't know if it's still the case but 3 years ago prices were MUCH lower in Oklahoma than in Wichita.

Here's a video by Forest River No Boundaries that gives you a number of things to think about as far as options/upgrades and what to look for. Don't own an RV, but have look around some. This trailer makes great use for under 25'. Oh, yeah. Good luck on finding a privacy master bed in an under a 25'. Same goes for an outdoor kitchen.

          Thanks on the video!

Outdoor kitchens and private masters do exist under 25’. You just have to rethink what you mean when you say “kitchen” and “privacy”.

Take a look at the Shadow Cruiser 240BHS.

Well, found a trailer, made an offer, didn’t work out. I guess we will keep looking.

It was. Priced at 30k, offered an immediate 15% discount. I asked for a 25% discount, they came down a little, but we were still $2k apart.

We did peak in a couple of 40+ foot fifth wheels, and those things were more nicely appointed than my home. Very impressive!

Before all this craziness, the dealers were said to have about 35% markup on their units. We found those in Wichita were not willing to come down more that 10 - 15%. That's why we ended up buying in Oklahoma. Found ours at Fun Town RV, just south of OKC. In fact, the one we ended up buying came as a bit of a surprise to us. It was exactly what we wanted but had a 40K price tag on it. Jokingly, I offered our budgeted amount of 25K. As we were leaving, one of the sales guys came over and said they would take my offer. We were shocked.
