I wish Ken Burns would do a series for PBS on comics like he's done for jazz and country music and do the history of things. It'd be a great special.

Burnham has some great songs and Netflix specials. He became prominent by doing clips on the internet and then turned that into a commercial success. Young guy, only 30, and stepped away a few years back to focus on other things.

I absolutely love Stand-Up. As far as a Mt. Rushmore, that's insanely tough as there are some tremendous legends and a lot of great talent around now.

Did Rickles actually do stand up? I've only seen him on talk shows and the old Dean Martin roasts and the man is one of the funniest people ever. I'm sure he did some stand up at the least, but if he did more than I think, he may get put on the mountain as well. I love binging Rickles on YouTube. His best of Carson or the roasts and he was brilliant.

I'm sure I've missed/over looked other names that I would add.

I liked Norm Crosby in his day. Dating myself I suppose. Not sure he would be on my Mt. Rushmore but maybe on the honorable mention list among many others.

Perhaps Professor Irwin Corey would be on the HM list as well.

Maybe Bill Cosby without the baggage.

Longevity award to George Burns.

George Carlin definitely gets a spot on my Mt. Rushmore. He was one guy who pretty much did stand up and nothing esle. Picking the other 3 not so easy. A lot of good candidates have been mentioned on this thread.

Too many women rely on the same period humor. It gets old. Taylor Tomlinson talks about everything, might touch on a period joke to appease the feminists but for the most part is really funny.

I own a DVD collection of his Variety Show which are pretty great. Dean was hilarious. But those roasts, which pretty much always included Rickles as well, were pure gold.
