  • New Casino by Park City

From looking at their Twitter feed, the Crosswinds Casino (https://www.crosswindscasino.com/) has been up and running since late October 2020 in a temporary facility, but on March 2nd they'll be having a grand opening in a new building. It's located off the 77th street exit north of Wichita. For anyone who went to the Wichita Greyhound Park, the casino is south of it, so you take the same exit. It'll be interesting to see if the casino has much business given covid. It's right north of where the Wild West World theme park was going to be, so things have been hit and miss in that area. Hartman Arena is nearby though, and that should help draw traffic, plus people who go to the Kansas Star may be interested in something closer, or people who like the "Red Spin" slots in casinos in Oklahoma may like it since it's run by the Wyandotte Nation and will have those types of slots.

Still one of the dumbest moves ever by Sedgwick County voters turning down the Downtown Casino for BFE Mulvane. We we're gonna get a Trump Tower FFS lol.

I can see them maybe adding tables in the future. I imagine they'll focus first on putting as many slots up as they can and then they can always remove some later on that people don't like and add table games, especially once social distancing isn't a big thing and people can sit closer at tables again. The Oklahoma style slots will probably be their big marketing thing since it's unique in this area and will get people in the building.

Do casinos still have Wheel of Fortune slot machines... I always did pretty well on those.

Yes they do. A lady from Texas won 300K on one in the airport in Vegas a couple days ago while waiting on her flight back home to Texas - https://fox8.com/news/featured/woman...vegas-airport/ :)

Personally, I think it will do well. What happened to the lawsuit? Seemed like it faded into non news.

Legal stuff still ongoing. According to an article last week in the Wichita Business Journal, the state attorney general's office filed a brief seeking reversal of the federal agency’s actions on February 5th with the U.S. District Court in Topeka, and on February 26th the court granted the federal government’s request for an extension to file a response brief, which is due March 15.

This will be a great companion attraction to Wild West World.
