Would hazard a guess that Shapiro is the number two these days in viewership and ratings, but I don't know that for fact. Ben is an amazing mind, but he mostly lacks the humor component of Rush that made him so entertaining.

I was in college when Rush started. He certainly gave focus to my conservatism. He engaged me, BEFORE a 24 hour news cycle, BEFORE the internet. He made me laugh. I haven't listened much in the last 15-20 years. That first decade or so my schedule was built around making sure I could listen to him. He will be missed, by millions.

Many don’t know that he was good friends with George Brett, Ken Brett, and Jamie Quirk. Rush Limbaugh sang at George Brett’s wedding. Limbaugh always had certain Conservative values, but he became an expert on the Constitution later in life. His wife Katherine wrote children’s books on patriotism on about a character named Rush Revere.
I’m certainly not the arbiter of heaven but from what I’ve read, he believed in it, believed in God, and prepared for his coming death. From the number of people who talked about his “kindness” to others indicate to me that Heaven is where he is.
