Yeah, I've heard almost everyone say the WSU campus is spooky, including faculty and Wichita residents.. As for myself, I thought it seemed eerie quiet some times, even during the day. As for my friends and family member they've had a lot to say. I thought faculty members admitting they were times spooked out was interesting. I wonder what causes it to be spooky though.

The perception in the rual areas is that it is not safe becasue of the ghetto looming all around.

They don't want their western kansas kids coming in here.
An “Old West” Texas analysis and summary of Mueller report and Congress’ efforts in one sentence:

"While we recognize that the subject did not actually steal any horses, he is obviously guilty of trying to resist being hanged for it."

Yep, and our friends to the north and northeast fuel that perception. Although it has been slow, we are making some progress.

I believe that WSU has a lower crime rate than the other two that shall not be mentioned institutions. I never encountered any of the mentioned activity even though I was a student there a long long time.

                      Wichita State spooky? No.

                      Villisca, Iowa spooky? YES!

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Wyatt Earp probably got into a couple of undocumented shoot outs on the land where the WSU campus is now. Would not surprise me at all.. After all. Hillside would of been the only beat back in those days.

                          That's not scary.

Now the Stanley Hotel is scary! Not only is it the setting of The Shining, a great movie, it is also said to be haunted in real life. I have been there and it is a bit creepy. Okay, very posh and very creepy. This thread is begging for a clip.

I don't doubt that old hotel is spooky. The WSU campus spooky is different though. Everyone that I've ever spoke with about it seems to have the same jitters. Jittery tales always seem to come from: Walking by the football stadium at night, being on any floor of Lindquist hall at any time of the day or night. If anything I think it's interesting the oldest part of the campus doesn't creep people out usually. All the jittery tales i've ever heard, come from around the part of campus that was built in the 60's-70's... Honestly I never heard a peep about Wilner till that news article either.
