    How very sad it is to see what’s happening to this beautiful piece of history.

    I had the pleasure of being able to see this place last year. I am very glad I got that chance.

    It may never be returned to its full former majesty, but I hope they can return it something very close.

      I was there in 2006. I’m not Catholic but I was still moved by the history and the grandness of the building. It is/was a monument of human engineering and architecture. Hopefully I won’t have just memories and they can find the means to rebuild.

          Heard or read that they had 400 firefighters fighting that infermo. Here is a good report on the disaster.

          Flames tore through the 850 year old cathedral in the heart of the French capital for hours, leaving little more than the stone walls standing
