  • Rockets @ Lakers Fight

No reason to watch it live but plenty of coverage afterwards. Rondo and Paul with a history. Brandon Ingram (Duke) should get a huge fine and suspension. He started the whole thing with a completely unnecessary shove to Harden. Then got in the face of the ref which is a real no no. And you know you're way out of line when Lance Stephenson has to be the calming influence and pull you out of the fray. Then later, when he's being calmed at half court, Rondo and Paul get into it (Paul claims Rondo spit on him) Ingram runs back in and Pearl Harbors someone like a complete punk.

Since it was in LA, can't be without some celebs, so look for Floyd Merriweather shadow boxing on the courtside seats....hilarious.

Props to LeBron for pulling CP3 out of it and getting him under control. It's easy to forget how freaking huge LJ is...watch him wrap up Paul like a beany baby. Hope they throw the book at Ingram but it will probably be a one game thing.

Off topic completely, if you didn't watch the story on Tyler Trent, the Purdue student losing his battle against cancer, do watch it and realize how lucky we are. Great to see them take down Ohio State and Tyler able to enjoy that.

I did watch that and then Purdue making Tyler's call of a win over the #2 Buckeyes come true not only with a win but a good ol' fasdhioned butt kicking was a bit out of this world A storming of the field that was by Purdue fans that was truly justified and deserved. Was so happy that Tyler was able to be at the game. Hopefully, Tyler will get a game ball from the team then move on peacefully and fulfilled to to the hereafter. Ohio State never had a chance.

    Probably deserves its own thread.

Extremely weak response by the NBA on the suspensions. Chris Paul 2 games (probably deserved 0, but you throw a punch, you get suspended), Rondo 3 games (grossly less than what should have been), and Ingram 4 games (also grossly less than what should have been).

      Here's what transpired:

What wasn't shown above was that Paul said Rondo spit in his face first and later, slow motion replay confirmed.

      Here's Jalen Rose's take: http://twitter.com/CuUpsnwxVR

Also Stephen A. Smith and Kellerman takes:

Rose said 10 games for Rondo, 15 for Ingram (pushing, in face of ref, and coming back throwing a cheap punch) where Smith later said 10 for Ingram and 15 for Rondo (the spitting).

It's looking like the NBA has a little NCAA in it, as I, too, think the punishment was light on Rondo and Ingram and they didn't want to hurt the "new" Lakers too much now that they have LeBron.

Watching the basketball is life special on ESPN and they had a segment on the 77 Sixers-Blazers finals.

Darryl Dawkins threw a haymaker at Maurice Lucas and instead hit his teammate Doug Collins. Lucas was one of the baddest dudes I’ve ever seen on a basketball court. I’m not sure Dawkins even got suspended beyond that game. What is the penalty for punching your teammate? Portland was a fun team to watch that year.
