With Rookie leagues, Low A leagues, High A leagues, Double A leagues, and Triple A leagues (all 30 MLB teams have at least one team in most of those leagues=150) all a part of Affiliated Baseball, AAA baseball (which is what Wichita will get) doesn't jump to the top of my list when I'm considering the eliminations of a relatively small number of teams.

Sorry. Went online and read what is going on. The crux of it is that MLB feels several facilities are not adequate for as they put it "Professional Baseball Players". This part doesn't apply to our new facility but there are other aspects the are being discussed in a new bargaining agreement between MLB and MiLB. Some proposed changes are the number of teams a MLB club can field as well as an agreement on the number of people MLB will furnish for development. Also on the table is the number of teams in a league some will increase and others will decrease. Also how they are set up in regions. Apparently there are going to be numerous changes being looked at even concerning moving the draft after the CWS tournament. This could be really weird and interesting in the end to see where we wind up.

This is a very preliminary proposal that is a long way from being adopted. If adopted it would likely affect the upper levels of the minors very little. Every MLB team has just one AAA and AA team and that is unlikely to change. The real impact would probably be A ball and below, especially the rookie leagues if they end up pushing the draft back which I believe is part of the proposal. Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

back to the name...
Kansas and Wizard of Oz reference as Rainbows, with a Flying Monkey as the team mascot.

I think minor league hockey is a great example of what MILB players should be looking for as far as player treatment. Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.
