In a 5-4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court said, “We have no authority to stay an execution in light of an “appeal of the President,” presenting free-ranging assertions of foreign policy consequences, when those assertions come unaccompanied by a persuasive legal claim.”

In his last minutes, Humberto Leal repeatedly said he was sorry and accepted responsibility.

"I have hurt a lot of people. ... I take full blame for everything. I am sorry for what I did," he said in the death chamber.

Therefore, all the other manuvering was nothing but crap. He admitted to what he did, yet even after his statements, there were those like his attorney who still said "that with consular help her client could have shown that he was not guilty".

And let's just plaster his friends and family crying and distraught over his execution. I've got a better idea -- lets put in big bold letters his admission of guilt and a full discription of what he did to the 16 year old and include a picture of her family.

Souds like even if he did get the help they claim, he would have ended up in the same position. The evidence from my understanding was pretty substantial. And from what I've read about his crime, he deserved to die. I'm not going to be losing any sleep over the death of this scum.
