That is a good read. Thanks for sharing. He articulates something that I think all of us (ok, maybe not the ones who do make a team's success/failure part of their own real lives) already understood, just couldn't put into words.

That said, I guess I am in the vast, vast, vast, vast minority as one who does look at a player's "moral fiber", as much as it can be seen from the cheap seats, as a factor in what degree I root for or against him.

I really liked Mike Sweeney, not just because he was a Royal, but because he didn't play a "character", but was himself and from all accounts a man of high moral character.
