I heard former NHL player and current Wichita businessman Tom Ralston discussing this on 1410 this morning and it was new to me:
Former Wichita Wind head coach "Ace" Bailey was one of the passengers on Flight 175 on September 11, 2001 that crashed into the south tower (WTC2).
The Los Angeles Kings, for whom Ace worked as a scout at the time, named their new mascot Bailey.
His family also founded the Ace Bailey Children's Foundation.
Rest in Peace, Ace. The courageous men of Seal Team 6 gave that son of a ***** a game misconduct and a one way escort to the eternal penalty box.
