    Sub,

When do they call up Duffy? I figured on Mongomery being the guy this year, but Duffy has the numbers! Also, Hosmer's hot start has really put Kila Kila on the hot seat!

duffy and monty will be see Sept call ups for sure. I would imagine they would be up sooner if the track record remains the same (second place in the division)

Kila isnt in the hot seat. It doesnt take rocket science to figure out Hosmer is going to be the man of the future for the Royals at 1B. The only thing that really sucks about his production to this point is that you wont get much of anything for him via a trade.

You don't think Hosmer is going to come up sooner than expected?

Once he goes through a bit of a slump and comes out of it, he'll be up.

They're not going to rush anyone. If a starters spot opens up and Duffy continues to throw like he has, he may get that shot.

Hosmer I really doubt comes up before September. Things can change, but if he does, it won't be soon and would be after the All Star break

                Omaha loses late to NM.
Eric Hosmer went 3-for-4 with a walk in the loss to extend his hitting streak to six games and lift his batting average to .422.
                Duffy goes today.

                Melville and Rocks struggle
Wilmington, DE - Right from the opening inning it was evident that Monday was not Tim Melville's night. The Wilmington Blue Rocks' Opening Day starter was shelled for seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits in only four innings, as Wilmington fell to the Lynchburg Hillcats, 9-1, at Frawley Stadium.
                Sample throws tonight.

                Kane County continues to lose.

Storm Chasers Slug Their Way Past Albuquerque Hosmer and Robinson both homer. Duffy struggles.
                  Hosmer torching PCL pitching
After 25 games -- he's collected multiple hits in 12 of them -- the Royals prospect is hitting .430 with three homers, 14 RBIs and three stolen bases. He's also drawn 18 walks for a Pacific Coast League-leading .518 on-base percentage while striking out 15 times. And he's 16-for-26 during a seven-game hitting streak.

While Hosmer certainly benefits from his position in the Storm Chasers' lineup -- he hits third, just ahead of No. 7 prospect Mike Moustakas and Clint Robinson, the reigning Texas League Triple Crown winner -- he still has to put the bat on the ball.
Hosmer will look to continue his hot streak with two more games in Albuquerque before the Storm Chasers head home on Friday. Although he's still just 21 years old, the numbers he's amassing in Triple-A must be hard to ignore in the Royals front office.

Hosmer downplays speculation about his Major League debut.

"Every player has expectations, but I know the Royals have a plan and I'm not going to question it," he said. "If they call, I'll be ready, but in the meantime I'm concentrating on helping the Storm Chasers win games."
                  Monty pitches today.

Naturals unable to hold early lead Dwyer struggled. Colon had a horrible day in the field.
                  Lamb to pitch todays game.

ROCKS ROUTED FOR SECOND STRAIGHT NIGHTNot much to say. Sample had a horrid night and the offense did little. Odorizzi will try to get them back on track tonight.

                  Kane County still sucks.

Duffy had a 3 run second, but only gave up 1 more in the 6th. ERA now at 2.08 and he did strike out 9 in 6. Not as dominant as he has been, but not horribly discouraging.

Robinson is a monster 4A player and Hosmer is just rediculous!

I believe Duffy also walked 5. He can't be lights out every time out, but not his greatest performance. I'm not going to lable Robinson a 4A player until he actually gets a shot at the Bigs. But he's picked up where he left off last season.

If Robinson isn't a 4A player, then he needs to get his butt up to KC! I think a 30 HR 300 BA guy might just be useful.

Hosmer went 3-5 with a walk tonight. His average is up to .439. The only thing missing from his resume this year is extra-base power.

Kila better start showing something or as soon as the deadline passes to put off Hosmer's arbitration eligibility he's going to be storm chasing in Nebraska.

Balanced Attack Leads Storm Chasers Over Albuquerque
Albuquerque, N.M. - David Lough collected four hits and drove in two runs and Johnny Giavotella knocked in three runs as Omaha subdued Albuquerque, 11-4, in the third of a four-game set at Isotopes Park. The Storm Chasers improved to 16-10 and maintained their three-game cushion over Iowa in the American Conference Northern Division.

Giavotella and Eric Hosmer supplied back-to-back run-scoring singles in the third inning to give the Chasers a 2-0 advantage before Lucas May came through with a two-out, two-run single in the fourth to expand the margin to four.

Omaha starter Mike Montgomery blanked the Isotopes through six innings and was removed after Trent Oeltjen's leadoff single in the seventh. Greg Holland took over and allowed a double and a walk to load the bases before uncorking a wild pitch that allowed the hosts to score their first run.
                            Montgomery, Chasers top 'Topes
MLB.com's No. 14 prospect is on a personal hot streak. He's allowed four earned runs on 17 hits over 28 innings in his last five starts and is eighth in the Pacific Coast League with a 2.45 ERA.

Montgomery's only loss of the season came at Albuquerque on Opening Day, when he gave up five runs on six hits over five innings.
                            Mazzaro takes the mound today.

                            Naturals' comeback falls short
Trailing by that 2-1 score, Christian Colon and Wil Myers led off the home half of the ninth with back-to-back singles for the Naturals (11-11). But Springfield reliever Jose Rada got Jeff Bianchi to strike out on a foul bunt attempt before Colon was caught trying to steal third, quickly recording two outs. With Myers on second base still representing the tying run, Rada struck out Tim Smith to end the game.

The game moved along at a swift pace in the early innings, as Naturals starter John Lamb (0-2) retired the first eight Cardinals (11-14) that he faced. The southpaw held Springfield hitless until the fourth inning, when Ryan Jackson led off the inning with a walk, stole second and scored when Jermaine Curtis rolled a grounder past a diving Jeff Bianchi into shallow center field. That RBI single gave Springfield the game's first run.

Lamb settled down from there, keeping the Naturals' deficit at just 1-0 through his six innings. He was very efficient with his pitches through the game's early innings, and tossed 81 pitches over the course of his entire outing. Lamb allowed just the one run on two hits, striking out three against three walks. The quality start lowered Lamb's ERA to 3.22.
                            Smith starts this evening.

                            ROCKS RETURN FAVOR, ROUT LYNCHBURG
The offensive explosion was more than enough for Odorizzi (2-0), who scuffled through a rough first inning and then found his groove. The 21-year-old yielded two hits in the opening frame and saw a run score on an error by Batista at third base. But he retired 10 of the next 12 batters he faced and allowed only one more tally over his final five frames of work.

He finished his night with eight strikeouts and only one walk. After Bryan Paukovits yielded a single score in the seventh to pull Lynchburg within four runs, Kelvin Herrera came on to shut the door, tossing a pair of scoreless frames to give Wilmington just its second win in six tries this season against the Hillcats.
I'm liking this kid. Can't wait to see him moved up to NWA and see what he can do there. I may be jumping the gun a bit, but at some point, it's going to happen.

                            Arguelles is up next.

                            Kane County loses again. (8-19)

This is true. They're discussing it on 810 and on the post-game on TV. About time. Kila wasn't cutting it. I guess Robinson isn't going to get a chance. Shame.
