Maybe this will be Kila's breakout game and we can overcome the 5 or 6 runs Davies is likely to give up in his 5-6 innings of work.

davies goes 6 giving up 2 er. leaves with a 3-2 lead the bullpen loses. then the bullpen finally implodes giving up a 4 spot in the 10th. davies is good for games like this. he's a good 4th or 5th starter even though he was supposed to be a top half of the rotation guy.

If Davies can continue to pitch like that most of the time he's fine by me. Jeffress had major issues and I fell asleep, but it appears Collins had a bad outing as well.

Collins started off with a 4-pitch walk and it didn't get much better after that. He did start throwing strikes, but the Indians were hitting those strikes pretty well. I turned it off at 6-3.

That's what everyone says about Davies. After three years I don't think his stripes are going to change.

I don't either, but it shows why the Royals keep giving him a shot. He's going to have bad games, but you just hope that he'll have a few less of the really bad ones and give the Royals a chance. When he's on, he's pretty good.

With that said, I can't wait for Monty, Duffy, Lamb, Dwyer and the rest of the kids to start getting sprinkled in.

that's been his whole career, even before KC. it's these flashes that keep him on a major league roster. on a positive note he is hitting the (what's normally considered) prime of his career. so it might click.

How about Chen? He's been a very pleasant surprise between last year and the beginning of this one.

Crow in rare company with string of zeros
With his 1 2/3 scoreless innings on Monday night, Crow became just the seventh pitcher since 1919 to begin his big league career with no runs allowed while striking out at least one batter in each of his first seven games.
Back to within one game and Hoch going tonight.

And for the record, Gordon had a hell of a game and has turned into a pretty damn good left fielder. Nice to see him get a career high, 13 game hitting streak and he's currently leading the team in RBIs.

When does the Kila Ka'aihue experiment end?

Dude can't hit his way out of a paper bag and is a liability on defense. Is he a Rule 5 guy or something?

Yost has great patience with young players and will keep giving him chances. In all honesty, the Royals will be much better off if Kila figures it out soon and can be traded in a few months.

Although, I'd love to get a look at Robinson.

Patience is one thing, but what is the limit? There doesn't seem to be any sign of improvement and it's not like he tore it up last fall. He's batting something like .138 in his last 10 games and striking out 1/3 of the time. AAA seems to be a better answer to fix his brain.

Oh, and I can answer my own question: 438th pick in the 2002 draft by KC.

Relying mostly on memory and what I recall reading, Kila had a good September last year and is typically a slow starter in the spring. I think he'll get until at least mid-May to get things turned around. I also read something recently that as far as hitting goes, he's been unlucky on balls put into play.

His defense has been pretty atrocious though.
