In the last month, Gillmore, now a sophomore at Cowley County Community College, has kept up the family’s track lineage. In early March, she won the Region 6 indoor championship in the pole vault. She followed that up a couple of weeks later by claiming a national junior college indoor crown in Illinois and setting a national record in the process.
She plans to someday become a physician, but not until her vaulting days are over. She visited Wichita State this week and has had contact with four Big 12 Conference schools, as well as South Florida.
