Taryn shot 73-74-75 (222) to finish tied for 1st and won it on the 1st playoff hole at Sand Creek Station in Newton.

Taryn had a stroke average of 79.2 in 26 rounds in 9 tournaments as Shocker freshman last season. Her 54-hole best was 229 last year. So nice improvement on those numbers although hard to know how Sand Creek Station compares to the courses she played at WSU in terms of difficulty. In any case, a very nice accomplishment for a relatively young player.

    Nice work Taryn and congratulations.

Sand Creek has a USGA rating of 75.4 from the white tees. Spirit Hollow, site of the 2015 MVC Championship, has a USGA rating of 74.6. I think this means Sand Creek is slightly more difficult, but I am not a golfer and am just guessing.

If so, her 73-74-75 scores at SC would appear to be quite good compared to her 73-84-85 rounds at SH. She possibly has a lot of local knowledge at SC to explain some of that difference. But again, I am not a golfer, so I may be totally out in the left fairway bunker - or even in the adjacent fairway - with these guesses.
