I hereby change my comment to it's about time the brought the 10 second count to the women's game. That a lot of what makes the press effective and I don't understand why they never had it. :D
Several years back they experimented with the 10 second count during exhibition games of the NCAA schedule, but never put it into full effect (as I recall).

I suppose the move to a Big 12 program is a step up in prestige.
      .

We all know asst. Coach Kirk Crawford moved on to Texas Tech. He is no longer on the Shocker web site and is on Texas Tech's. He has been seen at Lady Shox practices in Shocker Gear the past couple of days. No idea, but if he is back it will be a plus for the Shox.

Kirk is back on the Shox web site as an assistant coach. So I guess he came back. Good for the team. I hope he stays planted.

Don't know what is going on with that, but if that is accurate (Tech still has him listed, but I can't see why he would have gone from being unlisted on GoShockers to being back on there without it meaning he will be at WSU), it is very, very good news for the program.

Here is a Lubbock source stating that Kirk had in fact left the Red Raiders program for family reasons although it did not say Kirk was returning to Wichita. Sounds like Margie and the boys may have vetoed the move to Lubbock.

Lady Raider basketball assistant coach Kirk Crawford resigned on Friday because of family obligations. "Wednesday night, I knew that he was contemplating family matters," head coach Candace Whitake…

I can imagine Margie is getting tired of the nomadic life. Not sure how old Kirk's sons are.

In any case glad to see Kirk is apparently still with us.

My thoughts exactly re "family reasons." "Wichita was bad enough, but I am *not* living beyond the ends of the earth in Lubbock, Texas."

Brief mention of Kirk Crawford's return to the Shocker staff in the Eagle.

Saw Ali Decker. Has a cast on her arm. Broke her wrist during boxing heavy bag workouts as part of basketball training. Right now I see Alex, Kelsey, Michaela, Michelle and I don't know. Too early to tell, but I'm not seeing any recruits who can play. Maybe the kid from Butler CC, but she isn't even on campus yet. I'm too out of the loop, but will get back in it.

Oh Brother! Hopefully, Ali won't prove to be one of those snake-bit kids that simply can not stay healthy. Do you know if that break was on her right (shooting) arm or her left arm?

Probably way too early to conclude much one way or the other about the play of the incoming players.

Pretty sure right, but I was in the "Poor Kid", mode, so I didn't pay much attention. They're on a break now, but play
pick-up games. Alex and Kelsey look like players, in shape ready to go. Michelle continues to go all out.

It is her right, but I hear her left is getting strong :-)

                              Lady Shocks release non-conference schedule.

Not a lot meat on that schedule. A possible 2nd round game vs Oklahoma in the WNIT, which if we get it will no doubt be played in Norman and games at K-State and at Wisconsin-Green Bay. Outside of that it looks like an RPI-Killer kind of schedule.

However, that may be what this young and inexperienced team needs this year.

Agreed. HCJA says to be the best you must beat the best or something like that. This is not the best, but will be a good test for a team with many questions. I look forward to rooting them on.
