Texas Tech Transfer Zoe Jones Collects First Weekly Honor as a Shocker

Jones hit .400 (6-for-15) over the weekend at the Niner Invitational, including three doubles, seven runs and an RBI. The Texas Tech transfer now has a team-high six doubles this season.

Jones scored a pair of runs in the win over Northern Iowa and then went 3-for-4 in the first matchup vs. Charlotte over the weekend. On the final day of the tournament, she doubled and scored a run vs. Minnesota, before hitting two more doubles in the nightcap vs. Charlotte.

In the NFCA Poll of last Tuesday, the votes for the teams were Shockers (15), Minnesota (14), and Charlotte (2). Illinois had 5 votes. All are ranked RV, of course. On Tuesday, we can see any movement.

For this Tuesday, Charlotte (6) and Illinois (1) are the only teams left from the above. The Shockers will not be RV in either of the two principal polls.

In the ESPN poll, Minnesota (26th), Illinois, and Charlotte are all RV.

For the AAC, UCF are 24 and USF are (RV/28) in the NFCA Poll. In the ESPN Poll, USF (24) and UCF (25) are both in the Top 25.

RPI should start making an appearance in another week or two.
