The Lady Shocks Softball team is picked 8th (one vote behind 7th Place Bradley) in the 2012 Preseason Coaches Poll.
Not surprising and I don't have any basis to dispute their placement. There is a pretty good drop in votes between #6 Drake (54) and #7 Bradley (31) and #8 WSU (30).
Evansville (21) and Indiana State (20) trail the Shocks.
We'll have to see what happens with the new leadership in place. I think if Coach B could somehow squeeze out a 6th place finish that would be very good start to her Shocker tenure.
