It doesn’t seem like two holes in the ground would be cause for celebration. However, around WSU volleyball that is the case. The floor at Koch Arena features slots for volleyball standards in time for this weekend’s World League men’s matches. No longer will WSU need to assemble the bulky, portable standards for nets when it uses Koch Arena. They were both an aesthetic flaw and a possible safety problem. We heard for years that the water table under Koch Arena made digging those holes a risk. After years of trying, WSU found a construction firm willing to do it and so far there are no leaks.
