With your Contour subscription, you can also watch TV online using laptops, tablets and mobile devices.

It appears the telecast is on Channel 22 at 3pm. The Cox listings have Local Origination (and K-State BB on Channel 34), but the morning paper does list Channel 22 as the carrier of the MVC Championship. It must have been earlier in the week that the "wrong" channel was listed in a newspaper article - and actually, has probably changed since then to Channel 22.

Frustrating in some ways as volleyball deserves to be in HD.

Word out of Omaha (Alleycat), is that Wichita State got in trouble for filming the UNI - Creighton matchup. Apparently that is a big No No.

          ??????????

After reading the comments on PantherNation, I have come to dislike UNI fans. I also doubt the honesty of their posts.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Since when is game film against the rules?

I don't know. I think the comments on the UNI board reflect the bitterness felt by Panther fans at being passed by WSU volleyball more than they reflect reality.

                  It sure looks like it.

I found the comments about everyone in the league thinking Lamb is a slimeball when Lamb is really close friends with most of the coaches in the league to be really funny.

The NCAA has rules and restrictions on everything. Videotaping is no different although I suspect their main concern is to prevent someone from commercially profiting from such videtape.

I found this from the 2009 NCAA Tournament Handbook:

                    Videotapes, Films and Still Photographs
[Reference: Bylaw 31.6.4.3 in the NCAA Manual.]
Institutions are permitted to videotape championship competition by their teams or their individual student-athletes for archival, coaching or instructional purposes. A team may tape all matches at the site in which it is participating. The videotapes may not be used for any commercial purposes. An institutional representative shall contact the event coordinator at the host site to arrange for camera space at that site.
If I am reading this correctly it is OK to videotape a UNI match at the MVC Tournament. Otherwise, you are only allowed to film your own matches.

Hmm, this is a bit ambiguous to me. If you can tape your matches only, I would expect the wording that appears - "matches ... in which it is ...". If you can tape all matches at the site, I would expect the wording to be "the site at which it is ...". But the phrase "in which" is closer to the word "site" than the word "match", so it can be argued that "site" is the word being modified.

You are fortunate that I am not an English major, or I could really expound on the question! :)

If the meaning of the statement was to have "all matches" modify "in which it is participating" there would be no need for the phrase "at the site." It would be impossible to either tape the matches you are participating in at a different site or to participate in a match in a location other than the site it is being played at.

The inclusion of the phrase "at the site" would only have meaning in a tournament format where a team is participating at the site, but is not playing in all the matches at the site.

When you feel your team was unjustly passed over for the NCAA Tournament, when you point that out loud and long, when you suggest that the Selection Committee is basically incompetent, ...

In some quarters, that can be understood as standing up for your team and your program, as pointing out inequities in the process that need to be corrected (and it appears that they were).

In other quarters, that can be understood as whining or some such, and you are probably never going to change minds once that point-of-view has been established.

And we get recruits from Iowa. Are they ones that UNI wanted? And the only we could get them is by ...

Whatever. So it goes. Much ado about nothing. Meh

And I don't think we have passed UNI - I think we have joined them as being one of the consistently strong programs in the Valley. When Ahrabi-Fard was coaching them, UNI was the Valley. In fact, I expect us to finish behind them in the standings next year, too.

Yes, the reason I expect us to trail them next year. Plus UNI is relatively young. Just part of the ebb and flow of recruiting cycles for me.
