I see she is no longer on the roster. Did she leave the team and anyone know the reason?

  • #2
She last played in the match against Hawaii. I don't know why she is not on the roster.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

83Flyer raised the possibilty of Melissa Granville moving into the setter position ahead of Kayla and Kaitlyn if Lambo wants to give the 6-2 another go this year.

Not sure if he has any inside information, but if that is true that would put Kayla in a tough situation at #4 (in my estimation) on the depth chart at setter.

With a roster of 20 players (19 if Kayla has, in fact, left the team) it is not surprising to have some personnel losses. I'm not sure what the ideal roster level is but I think we may still be a little bit over-rostered.

Does anyone have any idea what the scholarship limits are for VB?

If Kayla has left the team, I wish her well in the future.

I heard that she might go out for track. Don't know if that is true or not, but someone said she was a good track athlete in high school. Maybe she can do that, since she is really versitile.

Have heard that the big setter is grad. high school early and will be here for the spring semester. If this holds true the 6-2 will be history, she might not be the only one leaving.

He is running a 5-1 anyway so the texas setter will take over for Harsh. I just wish we could get a big swinging, hard hitting, outside terminator to help out Emily next year when Sara leaves. I watched the Texas/Nebraska match on cable and that Texas freshman fawset or something like that is really good. She has power. We need to bring in a hitter like her and that Russian gal.

I wouldn't be suprised to see several players to move on after this year. We're very deep and the competition for playing time is tough. I'm just suprised something like this would happen in the middle of the year. I still saw her getting time as a serving specialist.

Pretty obvious, had to make the Hawaii trip before leaving. Don't blame her.

I thought the same thing, but did not want to post that until I had seen something official about Kayla leaving the team (which was reported in today's Eagle).

I don't blame her either and I'm glad she was able to make the Hawaii trip.

Best of luck to Kayla in her future endeavors.

I have to say that I was less surprised by Kayla Stout's departure than I was to hear that Taylor Keys re-joined the squad in mid-season and actually got into the Illinois State match Friday night for a few points.

Let's see. Taylor missed out on trips to Denver and Hawaii, but re-joined in time for the MVC road trips. Taylor might I suggest you find a new travel agent.

                    :D

Peoria and Normal aren't tourist destinations?

Of course, if the Shockers are playing there! :good:

I didn't think the road trips were so much about the destinations as the games played there. It all looks the same from inside the gym & the hotel. However, perhaps Taylor Keys booked her own travel on-line this time!

Well, they did arrange extra time in Hawaii to see the sights (for the first time in the 5 times Lamb has taken teams to Hawaii as a coach of several programs), so missing that was more than just a gym and hotel.

Since the team did take time in Hawaii to go sight-seeing, then Ms Keys DEFINITELY needs to speak to the travel dept. She did miss the good trip, it seems. Poor Taylor. By the way, anyone know why she re-joined the team? Just curious - is this related to Kayla Stout's leaving the team or perhaps coincidental timing & had been in the works prior to Kayla going???
