Kelly Broussard holds the Shocker record for carreer digs at 1,955 going into the Creighton match. (Karen Augspurger is now second at 1,477)

She needs 2,096 digs to set and hold the all-time MVC career digs record.

She picked up 15 digs vs Creighton and now needs 126 more digs to set the record.

Kelly racks up 28 digs in the Shocks unexpectedly tough 5-set win over Drake. 98 more to go.

Kelly picks up another 14 digs vs Indiana State which is a little below average for her. However, I think INS was serving away from Kelly during this match.

20 more agaisnt Illinois State as the countdown continues.

Kelly closing in after a great 27 dig effort against SIU to move into 2nd place on the MVC career list with a total of 2,059 digs.

Kelly with 33 more digs vs E'ville to reach 2,092. 4 more to go. Should happen next Friday vs Bradley.

Kelly notches 14 digs tonight and is the new MVC Career Digs leader.

It would be great to see Kelly break the record at home. On the other hand I hope we don't need 37 digs from Kelly on Saturday vs Evansville to win the match.

She probably would have done so already but she shared the Libero duties with Melissa Granville her sophomore year, before Lambo realized what he had on his hands.

It will be interesting to see who fills Kelly's shoes next year - It could be either Melissa or perhaps Sarah Waldorf. The team will be outstanding again next year what with losing only 2 seniors. Lambo seems to like having 3 defenders out there at times, so someone else will probably also emerge. It'll also be interesting to see who the recruits are come Nov 15th.

I'm pretty sure Waldorf is being groomed to fill those shoes. Although if Melissa filled in next year nobody would complain.

Melissa should fill in nicely next year but I really like the spunk and fire that Sarah brings to the floor. I am going to enjoy watching her the next 3 years. I think Jackie Church is going to be a part of things next year as well.

As far as the other recruits, we know the 2 studs arriving. There are others with more of a regional tie and one from Colorado that we have our eye on. Feekin is the big prize obviously and the girl from outside Tucson (sorry the name escapes me right now Stepanie somethingscotchromanian) will also contribute. We'll know them all in a few days.

I like Melissa in her current role. One reason I think Sarah Waldorf has played so much this year is to groom her to take over the Libero postion.

Melissa is one of our better servers and plays a solid floor game. She is also a terrific setter in scramble situations. However, I'm not convinced she has near the quickness and athleticism that Kelly brings to the Libero position, then again who does.

Sarah Waldorf may come closest to Kelly in terms of athleticism and quickness but she has a long way to go with her basic skills.

I don't know much about how Redshirt Freshman Jackie Church, so I will defer to Doc in that regard.

Are Jackie Church and Dana Loganbill the only players redshirting this year? And are they both supposed to be big contributors next season?
