  • WSU v CU

Doesn't matter the sport, I don't like Creighton.

Back and forth early, Shocks take a 2 point lead 13-11.

Shortly after they run off about 5 straight.

In control of set 1 now 23-16.

Excellent beat down of the Jays in set 1 to announce who's boss.

    25-16 good gals.

    On to set 2.

Didn't realize game was at 6, missed the first two sets, 2nd one sounded like they played ugly, pulled out the 3rd though.

That match made me nervous. I hope when they play in Koch its not so scary. WOW
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

As anticipated the Shockers received two tough challenges on the road this weekend, especially tonight vs Creighton.

Nevertheless, the Shocks did what they had to do to move to 14-0 on the season (3-0 in the MVC).

The road win at Creighton may prove to be particularly valuable in the 2008 MVC race.

The Shocks also extend their regular season MVC road winning streak to 31 games, one shy of UNI's all-time record.

            :goshocks: :good:

How many teams are still undefeated in the top 25 at this point?

4 teams are undefeated in D1.

#1 Penn State, #2 Nebraska, Pepperdine and THE Wichita State University.

I don't think anyone is going to beat Penn State this year but for the sake of argument, perhaps they will lose their first set of the year on Oct 11 at Minnesota.......but don't bet on it.

I'd love to see NU lose to CU on 10/5 but that's gynormously unlikely. Perhaps the only chance to see NU lose before tourney play will be at Texas on Nov 19. I would expect 1 and 2 to be undefeated going into the NCAAs.

Pepperdine will have 2 weeks to prepare for a 3 game road trip against St. Mary's, Santa Clara and Loyola Marymount. If they survive that, then they'll probably run the table until they face UCLA on the last day of the season, Nov 25. The Waves are probably the least likely to finish undefeated.

As far as our lady Shocks go, they should be in good shape until UNI comes calling on Oct 17. That will be a super match. IF (big if) they get past the Panthers, then they should get to the final 2 matches of the season....at UNI and at MSU. The team is getting better but I just can't see them being consistent enough to run the table but they should have a gaudy record going into postseason.

A record that should be broken in 2 weeks at SIU.
