This win at least looks good even though it was more difficult than it probably should have been.

coach Lamb said after the game that MBH did not have a very good game setting, but that she never got rattled and gutted it out. I will wait till the end of the season, but I think MBH has a chance, as a freshman to have as big an impact on her team as any freshman the shocks have had in any sport mens or womens.
tokarz also played significant minutes in all three sets for the first time this season. did well. We need this preseason all valley pick to contribute like tonight.
first time anyone hit more that .200 against the shocks, .211 the shocks hit .235
mike kennedy said we had 1 block in the first two sets and 6 blocks in the last set.
very exciting match. lots of lead changes and ties especially late in all three sets. but even while not being at their best, the shocks gutted it out.

even if the shocks lose one or two of the final two games this Saturday. I expect the shocks will win both and they should win both. I hope to see a hugh crowd next weekend for Missouri State.

The lineup that played a majority of the game this time was the one I expected to see this year. McGee is to good of a blocker not to be on the court, but Stephanie is to good on offense not to be out there. You can tell by the numbers that McGee struggled a little moving out to the right side, but I'm sure she'll find it. Also with the way Katie has been playing this year she's as big as a threat as anyone and that takes away her spot. I think you'll see a lot of bouncing around in playing time between Angela, McGee, Steph, and Katie. That's pretty much stating the obvious, but it's fun to watch all that talent and have this problem.

I'm excited to see Hooper set. She sounds like she does a real good job, but is still learning how to find others then the left side on extended rallies. Also, by the numbers and listening on the radio, it doesn't sound like she has the blocking skills Abby did, but that's something I'm sure she'll develop over time.

It's early, but I would disagree with that assessment. Last season, Abby averaged .4 blocks per set. So far, MEH is averaging .53 blocks per set.

It's not just about the block numbers, heance why I mentioned listening. It doesn't seem like you hear about her getting her hands on as many at the net, but as I said that's listening. The game moves fast enough that not every touch is said.
