  • C.J. Blackwell- 2011

Didn't see him listed when I did a search.

He is a 3 star 6-5 225 lb. SF from Suwanee, Georgia.

Offers from Auburn and Wichita State.

Interest from Illinois, Clemson, Depaul, Florida State, Georgetown, Perdue, and Wisconsin.

“C.J. is capable of being one of the most complete players in the state. He can score in every way possible — shoot the 3-pointer, drive, post up and shoot the mid-range jumper. He can also pass the ball and is a great rebounder. To be a good defender, he just needs a little more intensity.”

Going out on a limb with mostly a guess and say that this guy is the best chance on the recruiting board to become a Shocker next year (other than Evan of course).

Would be a nice get. So far the only other offers are Clemson & Auburn. Looks like he wants to be an Illini seeing how they are the only school listed as "high" interest. Just have to hope they don't offer.

Less than an hour after I "go out on the limb" Rival's new article says he is about ready to end his recruitment and is serious about UNLV. New offers from Purdue, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin. No mention of the Shockers.

What the heck, I might as well still hold to hope!!

Edit: My guess was based upon the perhaps mistaken, perhaps correct belief that he and his stepbrother attended the Shocker elite camp last month. It's disappointing we didn't get info on it this year.

                  Slow down

No need to get all worked up prematurely, fan. In the first place, the bottom line is that other than Evan Wessel (assuming he has no change of heart) we have no idea who's going to end up as part of WSU's signing class next year -- this guy, anyone else discussed on here, or someone we don't even know about. And that's fine, because signing day is months away, and you can bet that Marshall and staff are on top of the situation in the meantime.

In addition to that, what we do know is that WSU is going to have a bunch of offers out to guys Marshall wants to have on board -- way more than he has room to take. So most of them will have to "bite the dust" anyway, just out of sheer mathematical necessity. All of this recruiting talk is simply a way to pass some time until fall practice begins.

No updated info on his recruitment but he and family have moved to the L.A. area. He will play for Woodlands Hills, CA. (Taft Hi.).
