A writer for TCU doesn't expect them to get Richardson. He thinks Tennessee is probably the leader. Tennessee writer thinks it's too early to guess where Richardson will go.

I wouldn't be a surprised if WSU's one known opening goes to Landry or Richardson.

What about Ron Baker of Scott City or Glover? Are they plan C?

Long standing offer to Richardson and we seem to be pretty high on Landry. All we know about Baker is rumor that we might offer. I don't expect WSU to be involved with Glover's final choice.

          Trop,

I thought WSU was still looking at high school PG's?

          Have we given up?

So does this mean we are completely out of it for this guy? I worked summer camp last for WSU and he came in and played pick up with our boys. He did very well, I was impressed and was hoping maybe we could nab him.

No proof but when Marshall took a recent recruiting trip to Oklahoma, I would be surprised if it wasn't for Richardson. We haven't had an official open scholarship. Until yesterday, some recruits could of been encouraged not to openly discuss WSU at length.

Regarding a H.S. pg. it doesn't look like it will be Washpun. He's been a fan of Iowa and they only have one returning point guard. Although he is remaining open, I expect him to go with Iowa next week. And, no mention of WSU interest in today's article.

I might be forgetting somebody, but a quality H.S. point guard doesn't look promising right now. Marshall said a few weeks back they are interested in a H.S. point guard, a SF or best player. And yesterday it sounded like we will probably add only one more recruit. I'm guessing the top two choices are both SFs, Richardson and Landry. Landry has a scheduled visit. Both of these guys might also qualify as best player. If we could talk Landry into forgoing planned visits and sign next week, this will be the guy.

I'm expecting DWill to return and if he does, a pg could wait a year. It puts a bit of pressure on Cotton to be ready as a sophomore (or red-shirt freshman).

                  Trop,

I also feel like Washpun will be a Hawkeye.

I think Richardson/Landry will be a "best player" signee.

Demetric Williams has the ability to be a breakdown, get to the whole and finish or dish PG for our program. You saw it in the NIT. He just has to decide he wants it. I don't know how Cotton fits in the picture, but it is Coach Marshall's painting, so I will defer to him.

At this point, with Landry coming in for a visit, I think we are done for the spring. I think we may have been in contact with Josh, but I don't see Coach Marshall passing on a player of Landry's talent who WANTS to be a Shocker.

My concerns have passed to 2012, and replacing the rest of our front court, as well as 2 long, athletic guards.

We probably only differ in the confidence level on getting Landry. Therefore I'm thinking we are still after Richardson also, if he is interested.

I'd take either one, but you know me, I'd rather have the FR over the JR.

I agree with taking the freshman. Build for the future while succeeding in the present.

I believe if you had seen the junior you would change your mind. He will start for us next year if we get him

Oklahoma, with the coaching change, might be a possibility, maybe.

Maybe, but I'm not real comfortable having four juco players on the roster at one time. That forces you into one of two likely scenarios:

                              1) Replace with more jucos to try and maintain competitive level.
                              2) Replace with freshman and sacrifice quality depth and potential holes at one or more positions for one or more years.

The only exception is see is if we were to land Perry Ellis or someone on his level.

Personally, I don't think we're in desperate need of a SF type that can come in and start right now. If I got to choose, I'd take the FR who may be able to contribute this year and step in and be a bigger factor next year.

I don't really see a desperate need for a JC guy at any position with the available 'ship. Get some young guys who can contribute in a year or two and avoid a major fall or having to rely on a bunch of JC types. Richardson sounds like a guy who could play next year and be ready for a bigger role as a SO. That is much more desireable to myself.
