  • very colorful post from hogville - it seems like there should've been 1 or 2 "dagnabbits" in there somewhere...but interesting read nonetheless.

If he redshirts, then someone is not coming back, which seems to be the case every year, anyway.

How would him redshirting have anything to do with scholarship availability?

Or a current walk on is staying a walk on

Since redshirting isn't dependent on having a scholarship, perhaps 79 meant if he doesn't walk on, someone is not coming back.

I think we're going to send him to Sunrise, but that's just speculation on my part based on rumors about his test scores.

                      • If Austin is in Wichita next year, I am 99% confident it will be at Sunrise.

                        • For as much attention that I think he will get, that could be risky.

But if its for academic reasons, I guess we dont have a choice.

However, it sounds like his character would eliminate the possability of him entertaining another suitor..

                          • If it's an academic issue, I get the Sunrise idea. If it's a scholarship issue, it really doesn't help much, as we already have as many scholarships accounted for in 2017-18 as we do in 2016-17. Obviously those things always sort themselves out, I just don't see that being the reason for Sunrise. A question for someone more knowledgeable about the scholarship things. If someone "commits", I know it actually means nothing. Either party can change their mind. If they actually "sign", then can they still be sent to Sunrise, or are both parties obligated to fulfill that signing?

A redshirt still uses up a scholarship, unless it is a walk-on that uses the redshirt (e.g. Brett Barney).
