I'm talking about Movement Academy promoting athleticism(or themselves) with a choreographed dunk.

I'd call this a "choreographed" dunk...

        • I don't understand anyone questioning his athleticism. He is 6'5" with long length before he jumps. And he is young enough to grow more.

I agree. I never really watch the mixtapes. They showcase the great stuff, but don't really give you a chance to watch them for awhile. How do they play defense? Do they block out well? Can they set a good screen?

A lot of that stuff gets left off mixtapes.

I believe Austin is a diamond in the rough. I'm also hoping he goes to Sunrise for a year of prep, as I think it will help him.

Bad enough for a kid from a big school playing elite competition making the transition to high-level D1 BB, but this kid is also attending a small school. OTOH, that did not hurt Ron, so I guess we'll see when he signs and gets here.

Marshall personally watched him ... That's good enough for me.

Depending on his readiness and willingness, I'd almost rather see him take a redshirt than a prep school year. Keep him in the program. Teach him everything you can. Rosenboom him. Don't give him another year to be recruited by somebody telling him lies and stories of grandeur.

Sorry Stick. Should've quoted the other comment, not yours.

Redshirt, Prep School, or no Redshirt .... a couple years of Rosenbloom will do this kid TONS of good.

^ This. (With my first choice being "Holy eff! This kid is ready to start right now! Get him on the cover of the media guide!")
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Remember the Jake Odum comparisons -- Odum sat his first year at Indiana State and then was really good right away as a RS freshman.

                        • I agree with the redshirt, my only issue is I'm conflicted with the scholly numbers. But HCGM has a plan, and I'm sure he knows.

If we have room, I would prefer a redshirt. If not, a year at Sunrise (where we can keep a real good eye on him).

                          • I saw where Mr Reaves was a short guard and was a facilitator for the scorers, but grew 4-5 inches between his soph and junior years. That's why his handles are so good at 6'5. It also explains the "lanky" appearance, hence the comparisons with Pistol Pete. (First thing I thought of when I watched his YouTube clips). This guy has 3G written all over him. Answers "yes sir" and "no sir" in interviews.

                            • It's kind of uncanny-this kid actually looks like 3G and Kellen; like he could be one of Gregg's kids. The Maravich comparisons make sense. I'm not concerned about the small school competition aspect. If he develops physically with help from k. Rosenboom, has the desire and toughness to survive Our practice sessions, this kid could be another Shocker superstar. You definitely think of the "pistol" when watching him though.

                              • Interesting ... Rivals has moved Austin to a 3-star SF .... He was previously sitting at the default 2-star that everyone gets.
