Physically the comparison that comes to my mind is Jake Odom. Not sure he has the frame to grow into a Ron Baker physically. Either way if has the mentality of either Jake or Ron to go along with what appears to be a solid skill set he would be a nice get.

Depending on the recruit, interest could mean anything, something as simple as a letter that the school sends out to every D1 prospect in the country. From reading the Arkansas board it does sound like Mizzou was in to see him a few times though.

Reaves, with a friend, watched WSU’s game against Indiana State on Sunday and that experience sold him.

“We got to walk about behind the players (for introductions) and when you walked out you could just feel the atmosphere,” he said. “I knew as soon as we got there and saw the atmosphere that it was going to be a good fit.”

I wonder if some on here will let the terrible crowd that night take any credit for the atmosphere? Sometimes we need to remember a "not so good" WSU crowd is a great crowd at many, if not most, other college venues.

I have a feeling Marshall will make him a SG. But having handles like his, at his height, at that position, will be a very nice luxury once he adjusts to the D1 athleticism he'll face.

The statistics might scream that Austin Reaves is a small-town shooter.

That is not a complete description of Reaves’ game, his coaches say. At heart, he is a point guard, one who started as a freshman and sophomore on Arkansas Class 2A championship teams.

“He’s a pure point guard,” Cedar Ridge High coach Isaac Middlebrooks said. “Scoring is not the thing he really likes to do. He has to do it for us.”
