  • Derrick Walker PF 6-8 2016 to Tennessee

According to Paul Suellentrop, WSU is recruiting Sunrise Elite's Derrick Walker. Derrick is a 6-8 PF from Raytown, Mo. Paul's article lists Derrick as a 2017 recruit, however all of the recruiting services list him in the 2016 class. http://www.kansas.com/sports/college...e43248741.html

You can catch Derrick playing for Sunrise Elite in the Tornado Alley Classic next weekend.

According to the Bradley board, Wardle offered Walker back in August.

I have more faith in Sullentrop saying Walker and Trimble plan to be in the 2017 class than the sites reporting they are 2016.

Derrick has narrowed his list. As far as I know, WSU has not offered at this point.

Derrick Walker has narrowed his list to 6 schools: UIC, Ball State, Akron, Oral Roberts, Wichita State & SMU.

Two of those schools are on a different level than the others. Have the rest offered?

Range out to 18", but good body, and is long.

Reminds me a ton of Anton Grady. Maybe more athletic? It's tough to tell how everything translates from the highlight videos, but that's my first impression.

I like what I see, size and physicality, with potential to add even another 10-15 pounds of muscle. Looks
like a traditional C/PF with a nice touch around the basket. Maybe another SM ?

I really believe smu will fall off the face of relevance with out the cheating bastard that was larry brown.

Maybe rr was being kind to Akron, which has been on a different plane recently than some of the others, but I tend to agree that SMU's future is cloudy in the absence of Bad Bad Larry Brown -- and there's no question that WSU's Marshall-era performance is at a different level than the rest of Walker's six pack.

Dan McDonald from Rivals wrote a nice article about Derrick's recruitment today. https://basketballrecruiting.rivals....-major-offers-

I know WSU is no longer involved in Derrick's recruiting process, but it's nice to see a Sunrise kid with a good head on his shoulders start to get noticed.

When did we stop recruiting him?
