It would be nice to be on the right side of a matchup problem for once

      I'm enthused with our recruiting.

If we can land a solid PG with 2+ years eligibility remaining with our last scholly, I'd put this class as an A-/B+ type class. Really solid rebound from losing so much.

Say what you will about their coaching pedigree, but this staff has worked really hard to bounce back from a roster exodus.

From November 2021: No. 1 juco prospect Jaykwon Walton officially signs with Mississippi State - https://247sports.com/college/missis...ing-174987106/

247 currently has Jaykwon Walton listed as the #5 JUCO recruit in the country.

I like a good number of our recruits (of course it's on paper and we haven't seen any of them play yet). I don't want to be a "Downer" but we sure have an abundance of 2 players (and 2/3 combo's).

Jaykwon, Colby Rogers, Xavier Bell, Jalen Ricks, and Jacob Wilson all seem to have very good potential scoring and shooting talent.

If I had my way, I would rather have an additional athletic BIG 3 or 4 type like Bobi Klintman or a 4 or 5 type like Jeff Ngandu who are long and athletic, and can block shots inside instead of an additional 2 guard like Jaron Pierre. Pierre seems to be an excess 2 guard that we just don't have a place for.

Probably all of our guards are better than Qua.

This team is becoming highly interesting for next year. Extremely guard-heavy, but if they find a way to make it all gel as a team, and show some actual cohesive offense on the court could become a nightmare for any opposing team come March. Good guard play always translates in to the post-season...

Need to find another PG and we are set for next season.

Maybe he has the ability to play a small ball 5 too

Abide might be that athletic 4/5.

Looks like a guy that can play 2-4. Based on the film, he has decent handles (better than Dennis), can drive in traffic, finish above the rim and hit outside shots. He's a slightly shorter more athletic McDuffie. It will be interesting to see how he plays defense.

Very excited about this. Next up is a true pg to back up CP. I don’t think they have “that guy” lined up just yet.

I’ll be interested to see how this team comes together on both offense and defense. The individual talent, size and athleticism are all there. Getting the most out of them is what the staff will ultimately be judged on this year. I don’t expect it to be pretty out of the gate based on everyone essentially being new…. But I hope to see significant progress by the time conference play rolls around. Hopefully the individual talent level can cover up lack of team cohesion early in the season.

Pierre has been a maniac since coming on board…. Coupled with the NIL adjustment.

When there are two "guards" on the roster who are listed at 6'7", going to a 4-guard offense puts more length on the floor than we've had in a very long time. We've had a steady diet of 6'7" 4's, and 6'5" (or less) 3's.

Don’t get me wrong. I am happy to have this guy and he may be a very good player. But there are reasons he averaged such low numbers at Georgia and some may have to do with him. Hopefully that is fixed by now.

Especially since CPII seems to have problems with injuries. Have to get someone who is game ready preferably a soph or junior.
