  • Anthony Odunsi Class of 2011

The Shockers were showing interest in Anthony "Papa" Odunsi" when he verballed to Iowa State almost a year ago. He signed with them last November. He has asked for and received a release from his LOI and will be looking for another school. He is a 6-3 point guard, rivals' 3 star from Travis H.S. in Fort Bend, Texas.

Also showing interest when he committed to Iowa State were, Houston, San Diego, Arkansas, Rice, Colorado State, Vanderbilt and Santa Clara.

Would you trade this guy for an inconsistent player with an all too often sloppy handle?

    I know I would.

Odunsi is a point guard but is that what you are asking?

Rivals does have him listed as a SF. However they call him a guard in articles, and indeed a pg in the article re Iowa State. He was ranked #14 by Texas Hoops for the 2011 class. Here's what they say about him:

"ANTHONY is a strong and well put together guard who can make plays with the ball in his hands. He goes to the hole strong, has good body control for his size and is able to finish without drawing charges in traffic. He is a good ball handler, can pass over the defense and has good court vision. He has a nice stroke with 3 point range, rebounds well from the guard position and has long arms. He is a versatile player who can make plays all over the court with a combination of his size, strength and high skill level."

So are you referring to DWill?? If so, I thought he came on pretty strong at the end of the year. I don't want a trade. In this case I'll stick with who we have. Nothing against the recruit.

I would trade Tyler Richardson for this dude in a heartbeat. Sounds like a versatile player, maybe point forward?

Have you seen Tyler play or is this just a "gut" instinct. In order to make a statement like that I would hope you had something to base it on. Me -- I'm willling to wait to pass judgment until the kid has some actual playing time under his belt instead of just mop up minutes.
