        Per his Twitter account:

They say good things happen for those who wait so Ima be at least a hour late...
That's a Kanye West lyric...so I'm not sure if he meant it literally or not. :noidea:

        • Doesn't Landry want to play halfway close to his home?

          • Hmmm...

Halfway to his home would be somewhere east of Bermuda, Snap -- not much basketball out in the mid-Atlantic.

The point guard chose Tulsa for PT.

And I've gotten the strong indication that Landry wouldn't start this year. I'm not sure if he's better than Smith or not. But maybe coach would stick with the senior just because he is just that: a senior. Sort of like Graham being the starter all year when at a few points of the season it seemed he was being less productive.

Graham played because you didn't ever notice the player he was guarding. Not that the player he was on was spectacular, that was Toure's job. Graham was good at taking support away from the star guard allowing Toure' to defend in more of a one-on-one situation.

                • Brad Winton just tweeted that Landry has pared his list down to Wichita State and Gonzaga.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

                  • The difference between Landry and current players is that in addition to being able to hit 3's, Landry can create to the rim by himself. Kyles can do it on an alleyoop but not create without somebody else and is limited when not hitting from 3. Ben can hit the outside shot but not create (although he is a good offensive rebounder). TM isn't very consistent from 3 but can do the rest. A good athletic defender can take them out of their game and limit them.

However, Landry can hit the 3, create to the rim and finish, rebound, etc. In other words a complete player. No one else has the complete package.

A more detailed take from Winton at JucoRecruiting.com:

"Guy Landry (6’5, Midland College) seems to have narrowed his list down to Wichita State and Gonzaga. There have been rumors that Tennessee is still involved. He visited Wichita State last weekend, and is supposed to visit Gonzaga this weekend. He was scheduled to visit Michigan State this month, but Tom Izzo recently said the Spartans won’t be bringing in any JUCO transfers. Landry cancelled a visit to Minnesota earlier this month. His recruiting seems to change daily, so this may or may not be his final visit."

Of course, we on Shockernet know that Landry has been at Gonzaga since yesterday.

                      • I dunno why the kid chose Tulsa. He told you it was for PT? Nobody talks to me. Smith could start because he is a senior, certainly. He cannot create or go to the hole, and Landry supposedly can. I always suspected that Murry would make a wonderful 3, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards for whatever reason.

Are you thinking that Toure' and David would both start rather than both playing the 2?

                              • :good: While I agree with Sub, I also believe if we are fortunate and sign Landry, he will play much in the rotation along with Ben. Then the following Season, Landry would join Carl Hall as 2 leaders of that starting lineup.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
