Have the Shocks underperformed the form charts in any event so far? Shocks doing tremendous work so far.

The Shocker men and women both won Valley Track & Field Championships this weekend with very strong team performances, especially the Shocker men whose 74 point winning margin was the most since the 2003 Shocker team won by 96.5 points.

I was kind of curious how the Shocks might fare next year in MVC Track & Field. So I decided to adjust the scores from this year's championship won by the Shocks to exclude points scored by Seniors. Here are the results which represent points scored this year by athletes who have eligibility remaining next year (excluded points scored by seniors are in parenthesis):

2. UNI 101.0 (24)
3. SIU 84.0 (48)
4. INS 83.0 (35)
5. ILS 62.5 (23.5)
6. DRK 54.0 (9)
7. BRD 32.0 (20)
8. LOY 13.0 (22)

At first glance this would seem to bode pretty well for the Shocks next year despite losing more senior scoring than anyone else. However, next year appears that it will be much tighter than this year was.
