Unfortunately for VCU, and WSU, they had one bad loss to a sub 200 Georgia St. That apparently has really killed their RPI. Other than that loss, VCU would probably have a better RPI than GM.
when i saw vcu and wsu listed on espnu earlier this evening ---the title of it was Mark's bracketology...I think the announcer guy was just picking the game that he thinks would be a great match up. because we both average 74 points a game and like to run. I took it as his pick---not the official pick.

That would seem to make more sense. Otherwise, what's the point of having a Selection Show if you're just gonna leak your picks out before it?
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Hope this is the case.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!
Well that sucks. VCU is going to be hovering around the 50 RPI mark while GMU is going to be in the low 30s. Oh well, just win.
I don't think it matters. Beating a top 50 RIP team is good enough.
VCU is projected to finish at RPI 52. IMO, 52 is just as good as 50, but I'm not sure if the Selection Committee sees it the same way.
Unfortunately there is a HUGE difference in the selection sheets that the committee uses. They break down a teams record by top 50 and 51-100 wins. A 50 rpi is a top 50 win, a 51 rpi is only a top 100 win.
If VCU is the team we play, let's hope they manage to finish 50 or better and not 52 or so.
I would feel a lot better about playing Mason because they are a solid top 50 team.

Not saying that VCU won't stumble and GMU finish strong, but currently, VCU is in 1st, a game ahead of GMU. Also, VCU won at ODU, beat Hofstra, while GMU lost at ODU and Hofstra. GMU will also play at VCU later.
I really hope we get GMU. Win or lose, the games we've played with you guys were fun, and I'm confident another rematch would not disappoint.
Keep your fingers crossed! I don't think anyone knows for sure. As others have said, the people on the U that were matching us with VCU are merely speculating. They were giving their opinions, but they aren't the only people who have them and I'm not sure that they have any say on what really gets decided.
