Don't think so, we fouled twice on that last possesion and they wouldn't call it

    • This was an RPI killer.

sCUm was atrocious. I can't believe we let that bad of a team beat us today (well not counting the fix).

      ... No really, deuces.

      • Looking at the stats, if we would have shot the ball better...just a couple percentage points better (or shot our average at the line) we would have won. The refs certainly didn't help but do you expect them to help when you're in Omaha? It's very frustrating. That was the poorest I had seen our team play all year. Let's fix our issues at home and take one to the Panthers!

Now would also be a good time.

Think he has received enough breaks this year. Time to perform. He should be thoroughly embarrassed after that. I'm sure HCGM is letting him know as we speak.
I'll repeat, this game was lost because of all the missed free throws during the first half, not in the final minute, if we make our normal 70% free throws, then we win.

The refs know the deal and aren't going to call a foul unless it's beyond obvious. When the player is within arm's reach, you clobber his butt. Kyles didn't and the game was over.

And while he did have a nice rebound and put-back, he then fouled in the backcourt and gave the points back. His talent is being wasted by his head.

I don't blame him for this loss. There is plenty of blame to go around.

I was commenting on the final seconds….period.

He should be embarrassed about his overall performance…he should not, and is not actually, responsible for this loss.

Like said before, you have to lay the guy out at the end of the game to get a foul. Touchy feely won't get a call.

I disagree. More times than not in that situation you'll see referees anticipate the foul and call it when there actually might not be one.

The problem is, especially with this fixed ref crew, that if you foul too hard it then becomes an intentional.

With the way the game was called, I can definitely understand why the Shox didn't clobber anybody as "intentional" was probably ringing in their minds.

Our same ticky-tack fouls we were called for all night weren't called in the last 10 seconds. Gee.. what a surprise..

That last minute was absolutely shameful with the tie-up "timeout" they gave CU and the last fifteen seconds. What a joke.

Sorry for the rant. Long time lurker here but this game pushed me over the edge.
Its not good to hang on to that stuff for that long feel free to vent here. Shockeref usually has a pretty good take on the officiating. I agree it was pathetic but I am curious as to why these games end up like this..Is it a Saturday thing....Alot of games going on and we kind of just get the bottom of the barrel.....have our coaches earned the refs Ire? did these guys go to the Tim Donaghy seminar on "How to take the game where you want it to go"

im just sick about this Sierra Hotel India Tango
1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

Fair enough. But you are not in Kyles shoes – he didn’t mug the guy but he was attempting to gain possession and did more than enough (especially based upon how this game was call throughout) to “earn” a call…so I am reluctant to blame him. And believe me I was yelling at the T.V.

Kyles, overall, is a different discussion. I have supported the kid from the outset; however, my support has been waning (death by a thousand paper-cuts) – in part because of my own expectations.

I hate for WSU lose. I hate CU. So, personally, I am going to take beat before I pass judgment.

                            • This was very painful, ugly, with a nightmare ending. Foul somebody---anybody!!! The 1st half, we had a chance to get a nice lead but could not make chip shots. Our inside game was disappointing. We seemed lost and not productive when Hannah was on the bench with foul trouble. I really hope we get the blue blue jays at St. Louie!!! I want them baddddddd!!!!!!! In the meanwhile, we need to regroup and get N. Iowa. We can't keep fouling like this.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

                              • The referees were terrible. But WSU lost this game – they were not beat – they lost. There is a difference.
