    What I am saying is......

1)Ryan Jehle was a significant contributor on a team last year that whipped our ass 1 game and should have beaten us another game yet cannot find the court on this year's team.

2)Right now we play 9....the Bears play 11.

3)I don't think either team's second 5 has a big advantage (although I do believe we have a slight advantage inside) when they go to their respective 2nd five, but I have no doubt that the Bears last 5 is better than our last 5.

4)The fallacy that this is a play-in team that has way over achieved so far and is destined to immediately fall should be long gone. This is a tough, quality, deep and successful team that has not been defeated at home and has played a much tougher schedule than we have faced.

I am not saying we can't win or aren't capable of winning or that even WSU doesn't have the best team....but TO DATE, Missouri State has without question proven more than our guys.

I think everyone here knows that I look forward to the day that the team can shove my face in these comments.

      Asute observation.

J.T. Durley apologizes for making 1 too many 3 pointers for your liking so far this year.

I would much rather have a 48% three point shooter (Weems) than a 50% three point shooter (Durley).

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Shocks with this game, Missouri State is gripping on the to thin edge of the precipise and is about to get pushed back into the abyss by the mighty WU!

This game marked the low point last year, and I have to believe that we want it back pretty bad.

          WU 62
          SWOMO 55

The key to the game is David Kyles brining his "A" Game mentally, he doesn't need to produce big numbers, just be aggressive defensively, and follow missed shots. The rest will take care of itself.

Dont forget the guy who hardly ever plays and starts hitting 3's at half court with a hand in his face. We always seem to get one ever game! :posterwsu: 8)
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

I'll follow up on the David Kyles comment....sometime this season, if he doesn't change, he's going to cost us a big possession by not taking the extra .29 of a second to properly take the ball out of bounds and throw it to someone inbounds. Far too often he just gets a foot on the line and taps the ball back into play....if you don't know what I am talking about, watch tonight or at the next home game. Often times it is a violation that isn't called, but I can promise you someone will call it and it will be at a terrible moment. I think its referred to as Cadillac-ing.

Am I missing something? Since when will KM all of a sudden be a factor in a game like this?....He has alot of potential but appears to be a year off.....The idea that he will suddenly step into a tough road game and be a force seems a stretch....Also..this is the type of game we need to win to be considered a Valley contender...If we don't pick up a win or two at Mo St or SIU or Creighton or N Iowa then we are fighting for 4th or 5th

My comments about "KJ" Manigualt is not that he would play a significant roll tonight, but that he could give QUICK blows to others if needed due to his speed and length. At this point, Williams will definitely get his minutes first.

Perhaps someone with your contacts should make the coaching staff aware of this BEFORE it happens.

                    :D

Doc, I agree with everything in your reply. We have the pieces in place, now comes the hardest part. Between the ears. Getting everyone to play flat-out, smart ball at home and on the road for 40 minutes. That's the difference between pretenders and contenders.

The big difference is that Weems has shot 68 3-pointers to JT's 24. Not quite a fair comparison. But it is nice to have a center that can knock down the 3.

"easy win" - I really do hope this is one of those "sarcasm" posts that I usually don't catch.

I see absolutely nothing in any of the Mo St games played so far that would indicate in any way (even if our entire team is "on") that this will be an easy win. I'm not sure that, as the season gets older, there will be any "easy win" in the Valley.

                            Home games = "Hip-hip" Toure!!
                            Away games = "Oh-no" Toure!!

Let's hope tonight he breaks this cycle.

It's far from my place, my friend. I respect our staff far too much to ever offer 1st hand "advice". They don't help me with my job, I am not about to assume I can help them with their's.

I believe an impressive looking redshirt freshman will be raining 3s on the Valley in the not too distant future.
