KU will charge the exact same amount for their season ticket package with or without that one home game every 2-3 years. The only revenue they would lose is concession and arena advertising and merchandise. The TV revenue will still be there, as well.

WSU doesn't charge less because they have 1-2 fewer home games. Often times season tix are paid for before the schedule is even final.

It is completely disingenuous to take total revenue and divide by the number of home games and say you stand to lose that much. That's what Perkins and Self are doing.
Well I can't say how WSU does it but KU definitely charges more for each home game. In fact, until this year it was a set amount for each game (this year they went to variable pricing per game). Two years ago when they added two more home games the price went up $110 (2 X $55 which was the per game price at the time). And it isn't just up. Several years ago they had one game less and it went down $40 (the price at the time).

So yes, one less game at home is definitely less season ticket revenue. Now with variable pricing it would depend on the game how much. Alcorn State brought in $500,000. Michigan brought in $1.6 million.

Ya, because KU's athletic department is hurting for money soooooo bad!!!! I mean, they are practically bankrupt right? It's not like they can afford football coach buyouts and new football coach salaries...uh oh, wait a minute...

What exactly has been inconsistent in my argument?

        Seems pretty consistent to me.

          You are consistently vague.

You have a premise but no viable conclusion.

It's all relative. In fact they are hurting for money. They are at an economic disadvantage to many of the other Big 12 schools.

"Barely in the same state"?? Seriously? lol.
They also share tax money from the same group of people. They also are a mere 170 miles from each other.

They aren't in the same conference? REALLY!!?!?!??!?! Well, then I guess they shouldn't play then!!!!!!!!!! Why the hell does KU even play non-conference teams then?!?!?!

Actually comparing Idaho State to Wichita State really proves your overall ignorance and arrogance to the whole situation.

You've now consumed nearly 4 hours of your day buried in a topic on a lil ol' WSU message board. I'm beginning to think you care more than the rest of this board does combined.

                  That is entirely possible.

BTW, what exactly is wrong with a WSU message board that I wouldn't want to be here?

I'm here every day. Is there some reason that it isn't worth my time?

You make it sound like coming here is a waste of time. I'm not sure I get why you are here then.

There's nothing wrong coming to a WSU message board everyday if you have at least somewhat of an interest in.. you know... WSU.

It appears your sole mission here is to wait for a KU-WSU topic to spring up and then go ape-crazy in it. I just don't get it. That's what I find "weird". Also add in the fact that a lot of your reasons and "excuses" are lame, don't make a lot of sense, and are old and out-dated.

I think you would garner a bit more respect here if you participated in a few more topics other than the "KU-WSU I must defend KU from the evil WSU fans topic" every time that it appears.

I'd say owenc (although I don't agree with his views at all) contributes here enough.

Some of you are to young to remember but KU and K-State (in the 50's and 60's) played a two day tournement during Christmas Vacation called the "Sunflower Classic". They would invite two very good teams (UCLA, Prudue or Arizonia) to play them. They would play at K-State one night and switch teams and play at KU the next. It was a great show case and it was discontinued when the Big 8 started it's own Christmas Tournement.
We could do the same thing with using WSU as one of the teams playing the other to kansas schools. We could then invite another good teamto be the fourth.
Of course this would take an act from the State Legislature to happen but it's possible.
The three schools could take turns hosting the games or they could play one year in KC and the next in Wichita at the new Arena. I really think the fans around the state are ready for it and this seems like a painless way to do it.

Well for what is worth (apparently nothing) I certainly participate here in other threads besides KU ones.

And while I don't post a lot I'm here every day pretty much 5-6 times a day.

I also don't participate in most KU threads either. Just ones like this where I think the discussion gets completely away from the facts. In fact I mostly tried to stay out of this thread originally and I've tried not to rehash the old stuff at all. But at some point it just gets ridiculous.

For instance "KU doesn't ever schedule anyone non-conference". With a statement that stupid can you really blame me for commenting?
