One thread in particular is all about how cool it would be to have all 3 schools in the state in the top 25 at one time. It could pretty easily happen.
All that love is due to their team currently being #1. Generosity and kindness is much easier to find when "everyone's" belly is full. Now step back a few years when we were a consensus #8 and there was nothing but hatred and snide comments coming from the KU establishment. Where were all the "hey that's cool" comments then?

It really isn't all their fault either. Outside of Wichita WSU basketball doesn't get a lot of press.

Where is the majority of KU's fanbase? Kansas City. Wichita State gets ample press in the K.C. papers. Do be disingenuous.
Well anyone can win anywhere on any given night--especially if some guy who has hit 2 three pointers all year hits 9 of them. Given this I'd think it better to schedule WSU. Much better to lose to WSU than to ORU.
Ya, because there must always be another reason why KU loses. I mean, it couldn't simply be because KU wasn't prepared or the other team was better. It HAS to be because of some fluke right? Once again the arrogance of the fanbase from Lowrents shines through.
Silly me, I thought the reason given was that they performed better. Way better but better. Hitting 9 threes isn't done by accident.

Same place. There were several threads about how cool it was that WSU was tearing it up. Those KU fans that actually know much about WSU actually like WSU quite a bit. Now they don't hang out here or things might go a lot differently 8)
Are you implying that: (1) There is no point because no one cares; (2) you don’t have a point – even though you apparently waxed eloquently on this subject in past threads; or (3) the unwashed here on this board would not be able to mentally process the “real” reasons even if you took the time to explain?
It isn't like there has some big stop and start over time. That one series was started when KU was at its weakest historically and extended for 10 years (missing one year which was the year KU won the national championship) and ended just when KU was reaching its strongest.
Of course KU was at its weakest historically when they played us except for the year that they won the National Championship. Do you even listen to yourself? Correct me if I'm wrong Shocker fans but wasn't there some periods even before the 80's that KU was unwilling to schedule a series with us?

Why couldn't Bill just put a 5-star guard on him and shut him down after the 5th one? With such an athletic advantage it should have been an easy task?

This thread was started because some talking heads on the radio, with some sort of call-in show, decided it was a good topic for debate. Apparently, someone cares.

I agree. It was a complete fluke. Just like every time King University loses.

He obviously cares too, because he is spending an awful lot of time on our board talking about it.
Never attribute spite to what can just as easily be attributed to ignorance. I've said many times here that most of what WSU fans see as KU 'dissing' them is mainly them just being ignorant.
No, the "hate" posts are just that. I know the difference....but anyway, I don't ever want to get in the middle of it so I just let them hate away. I will say, I've seen more positive posts involving WSU than negative. One of the other problems is a few certain WSU posters who chime in with there opinions...that doesn't help.

Well you are the only one saying it was a fluke. I'm saying anyone can do it any time. The better team wins. That's why they play the games. If we just left it up to the RPI KState would be national champions.

Also, if there was no point to the discussion because there is a lack of interest then why is there a need for a justification? There would be no reason for the “real” reason.

What? This makes no sense.

Basically the two schools never really played each other before that series. They played twice during World War II and then KU came down once to open the round house. They never had any other series with each other other than 84-93.

It was definitely not an easy task. He killed KU that night. They put everyone and anyone on him and it made no difference.

Now that is funny.
Again this makes no sense. Why wouldn't it be better to lose to WSU than ORU?

It will just end up like last year and the year before. And then 6 months from now it will all be forgotten and we'll be right back here again.
There are a lot of KU fans that would rather see KU play the Shox in contrast to the Alcorn States of the world.
I don't think KU is "chicken" to play WSU or even to lose to WSU. It won't hurt their ability to win the National Championship. I do however think there was some bad blood between Roy and WSU, and I think there is some bad blood between Perkins and WSU. I think Self is a class act and he knows very well how difficult a game it'd be to play WSU at Koch.
If the Shox and KU DID play during the regular season, I'd welcome a 3:2 (Allen, Koch, KC, Intrust, Allen), and see nothing wrong with WSU accepting it.
I'm fine with the Shox and KU not playing during the regular season. I am confident they will play in the tournament sooner rather than later, and that game(s) will add so much more excitement.
