Seriously though...the position that concerned me the most was the 3. Hopefully Hatch can play a little better. He seemed nonexistent after the first 5 minutes or so. Do you guys think Toure will see time at the 3 in a 3 guard set? (Say yes....)

He had a case of the butterfingers last night. It sucked, but that's all it was. Everybody was amped, and they got tight, especially late in the halves. I was as frustrated with David as all of you, but it had nothing to do with his skills or his athleticism, it had everything to do with his headspace, and the only way he calms down in those situations is by getting his playing reps in.
I'm predicting a much better game out of him tonight.

Originally posted by AshockalypseKyles Hatch Stutz and to some extent Ellis, all needed to perform better tonight than they did. Kyles has a better excuse than Ellis and Hatch with one less year under his belt. Durley played beautifully and remember how much crap this board laid on him in the first couple of years. Relax everyone. Many more games to go.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Hmmm...
Cal, the next time Dofo comes out for a visit, please keep him away from your computer.
Kyles was bad, but he wasn't alone. Even Murry's good work on offense was offset somewhat by six turnovers and no assists. Besides, one could just as easily look at PJ Couisnard's career and find similar unexcused absences later than three games into his sophomore season (by which time, of course, PJ did have the benefit of a redshirt year).
DK will learn from this game and get better, and tougher -- this year. He'll be fine.

I'm not saying that I want him off the team, but there are a couple of things that concern me.
1. Who is the only guard to lose his starting spot?
Answer: Kyles
2. Who had probably the worst statistical game last night of the guards?
Answer: Kyles
He was outplyed last night by both freshman.
I think Cousinard redshirted back when MT was here and I think it helped him, maybe it might help Kyles too.
As for the comments about what you think of me, I don't care about that so save them for someone else's thread. If you don't have something intelligant to say, BE QUIET AND KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!!

Hatch is a shooter, but you are right that he needs help getting open. Not enough screens were set last night for him to be open. DK will be just fine. As Sub would say "I'm not worried." Stutz needs sticky goo on his hands. At times we looked like the Keystone Cops out there. Steal a pass, fumble the ball almost out of bounds, get hold of the ball and toss it over your head and fortunately a teammate picks it up but then promptly drops the ball and it goes off his foot into the hands of the opposing team. What a sequence. All we needed were clowns riding around in little cars.
This is an early game against a team that has a lot of talent. I still think we could have kept the score close if we had taken care of the ball. Nevermind the difference in fouls called at one time - none of that matters if you don't take care of the ball. I look for a better played game tonight. That being said, I rarely make predictions, and will not do so now.
GO SHOCKS.

Unless we go to a 3 guard set, or lie to ourselves and say that Toure is a '3', Kyles was probably going to lose his starting spot this game anyway with Hannah coming back.
Kyles can be the best player on the court at times, and at others he can be his own worst enemy. It looked like, by and large, his biggest problem last night was just jitters, and the best cure for that is to just play through it and get some nerves. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.
