If Williams and Manigault play. The big East is just a different type of basketball.

I really disagree with respect. When WSU handled Syracuse and LSU a few years back, both of those teams were more physical than us. Last year we went toe-to-toe with Georgetown and held our own--with less experience than this year, plus the returners are stronger and bigger than last year.

I agree with Doc, we need to have a solid game plan and make sure the players are very acquainted with it. The plan should be extremely carefully put together to accentuate our strengths and exploit their weaknesses. I think the team that wins that game is the one who has the best plan and of course executes it accurately (but I guess that's the case with any matchup).

I think our team is pretty physical--look at the Pitt message board comments. One guy watched our FDU game and thought we looked big and physical, which we are. At least, I think we are strong enough to hold our own. You're right about the freshmen, but I don't see freshmen playing near as many minutes as they did Sunday or as they will tomorrow night. Some, but not a big role. Garrett will probably play some though.
I guess we can get a better idea about Pitt if we watch their 4:30 game today. I think it is on ESPN2. I am not worried about the physicallity of the starting five. It is our bench that concerns me.

Kenny isn't going to be having issues with being pushed around. I think he'd adapt pretty well. Williams is the one I'd worry about some in that regard but I have a feeling he isn't the type to back down either.

i think that we will be okay. the freshmen would need to think a little more. freshman mistakes will be what kills us. those bad impulse 3s can't happen.

I am looking forward to the Pitt game. I wish I could go but I don't have the money to be able to go.

In regards to the physical play of the Big East, I think Durley and Blair can be physical, as can Murry and Hatch. I don't think there are many players that are going to push those guys around...Ellis is a monster compared to his freshman season!

                        Ok, look....

I admit, I was a little too strong with my choice of words. I went back and looked at my posts and I did make it seem like they would finish last even in the Big South or something. I admit that they won't be THAT bad. I guess I just got pee'ved for some reason and don't really know why...maybe a bad day...I don't know. So for that I do appologize, and I shouldn't have came at you quite that hard for something that is your opinion. So I appologize for that as well.

Now, having said that I still feel the Shox have a good chance to beat Pitt. Maybe not 80% or whatever I said, that was another exaggeration on my part. However, I still feel it is a good chance. Even with them handing it to Binghampton (are they the team who dismissed like everyone?) I still feel that way. I try to read up as much as I can before the season just cause I love college ball so much. Everything I have read says that Pitt will be young, so they will struggle early against decent teams but by February they COULD be a team no one wants to face. And of course they have a heck of a coach as Doc alluded to. I realize you can't always believe everything you read, but at this point of the season what else do we have to go on? My understanding is Pitt at this moment would be like a LSU or Auburn except with more potential down the road.

I will say that if Dixon (their only returning starter) is indeed back for the game against us that does make it tougher simply because that gives them more experience and depth...even if just slightly as he didn't exactly tear it up last year for them. Although I do understand that he didn't HAVE to last year either.

Anyway, that is about as honest as I can be. And it's only my opinion. At the end of the day though I realize that regardless of different opinions we ALL want one thing....a Shocker victory...that's what matters.

My appologies to everyone for my contribution in that. I now return you to your regular scheduled program.... :D

P.S....ALWAYS take Doc's word wayyyy over mine...

Now go ahead and break down my post and tell me how stupid I am ShockerFever...it's all good.

Not sure what can be learned from Pitts game today. It was a complete mismatch.
