"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!
The first practice for this game occured right after the charter back from Cedar Falls landed. Then they squezzed in a nooner later in the day. Sounds like fun.
By definition, an eight point lead in an SIU game is damn near insurmountable-probably a 20% surplus over the other team's output. Eight points is a blowout in an SIU-WSU game. That being said, if it's within six points late, I give the Shocks 50-50 odds. If we get down big we are in trouble.
Let's hope that the Shocks have a good shooting night, draw lots of fouls, and then we make 75%+++++ of the free-throws. We HAVE to be strong with the ball with all of the bumping, grabbing, and hacking that will ensue. The 2 a.m. practice called by Coach Marshall was extremely profound in my opinion. Let's hope the learning process this week results in the Shocks bringing their "A game" followed with the victory. Both teams really need a win to say the very least. A win could give us a boost of future confidence and get us back on the winning track before we head out on the cold lonely road again. :wsu_posters:

Let's hope they do bring their "A game". It will be the first one they've had since the first game of the season, at least according to the Prouty Rating. But then again, that game was against a weaker opponent and the Shockers were still pretty raw.
It takes 10 overtimes but the Shox finally break 100. Johnny Coy flies in on a private jet and joins the team in the 9th overtime, he scores 7 in the first overtime then drops 17 in the second overtime to save the Shox. ;-)
In the worse case scenerio that the Shox would dare lose this game---the melt-down here would be such that FSF predicts our own 'Good SN Spin Doc' would call all ShockerNet posters Out to meet at a required 2-a.m. caucus here and it will NOT be for the purpose of chugalugging 10 shots of Grey Goose, devouring stale nacho's, etc. Yikes!!!!!!!
