    1979,
It was changed this year to be a P.O.E. for officials to consider players underneath the basket to have established a legal guarding position. Therefore, a charge by an offender is considered a foul and should be called. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

We were up 26-19 and go into half 26-28. Unreal.

I lost 2 lunch bets to a UNI co-worker last year. I hope we play a great second half!

It seems like when we are up 26-19 within 2 minutes of the half with this particular team the coach ought to go a little bit tactical to make sure we go in with the lead. This is psychologically devastating for the team to lead the whole half and then go underwater. I think the coach needs to make an exception to his timeout policy. GEEEZUS THIS PISSES ME OFF!

So in college if the defender is under the basket you can still have an offensive foul but the shot will count if it goes? Even if the contact was before the release?

Did college actually have the NBA rule of being too far under the basket? I know HS doesn't. A charge is a charge no matter how far under the goal the defender is.

Contact occurred prior to the release on the replay, but who knows what they saw in real time.

I know the weather is bad at UNI and all, but can't they manage a better crowd than this?

From what I can tell, seeing as how Cox 22 makes it appear like I'm watching the game on Atari, it looks like there might be a few hundred people there, tops.

I guess that's why UNI can be a hard place to play. To the opposing team, it feels like more of a practice than a game.

There are some awful passes this game. And if the pass makes it to the receiver, he drops it.

Ellis seems to be coming alive a little bit--on the floor scrapping for balls, but he still hasn't made any points.

Watched 9 & 10-year-old girls basketball this morning. Turnover-wise, pretty similar games to watch.

We will not win many more games if more guys can't knock shots down.
We miss wide open shots more often than we make them.

                              Around the Valley at half-time

                              IlSt - 35
                              CU - 31

                              BU - 33
                              MSU - 24

Nothing real surprising in any Valley games tonight.
