WSU in 2008-09: 63.1 ppg off/ 60.6 ppg defense (thru 12 games
This year though we have 13 Div I scholarship players who supposedly can shoot the ball. Last year team did not. So by shear numbers of Div I talent we should be shooting the ball better but we are not. I rest my case.Goo Shockers

2. The Valley IS worse than last year.
3. We will win at least 5 games.
4. What the heck did anybody expect from this game? Why should this team be expected to win this game? Why should this team be expected to lose by less than 12? This is exactly what I expected, an alright performance, that had us leading most of the first half, and then a letdown (I didn't know the order, but i figured there would be a letdown at somepoint) in the second. Creighton is going to win the conference. We lost at their place by 12. I don't see at all why that is an indication of us finishing last?
There are MAJOR issues with the offense, this team isn't NCAA bound. But last in the Valley, this year? Gimme a break.

Murry sure gets selfish when he's not scoring. He also looks dumb. I guess that just makes him a regular freshman. "ShockerFever"
Actually, even though Murry had some rough moments tonight, I thought his overall performance was impressive for a Freshman in his first very Valley game. This was a sold-out road game with 17,000 plus fans. Creighton will vie for the Valley Championship this Season for sure.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

We obviously have some posters who are uninformed about the realities of D1 basketball.
I don't mind uninformed posters. They're always welcome and those of us who are older have the experience and knowledge to inform them and help them adopt realistic expectations.
Unfortunately, we have some posters who are uneducable. They cannot be educated. They know everything, so there is no point in them listening to any point of view other than their own.
Either that or they're just trying to be a-holes for the purpose of creating a smack-talk fight and then revel in reading their own snappy repartee and think that is the purpose of this forum.
Those of us who were WSU fans through the '80's and '90's have seen the highest of highs and lowest of lows. We've seen how great teams are put together and we've seen how a basketball power is destroyed.
I find it a bit comical that some more recent fans have self-importance so great that that the team they support must win despite any problem facing that team.
Some advice from an old fart: You win some. You lose some. You always hope for a win. You support your team in the next game no matter what happened in the last game. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

If year to year no one has improved it's coaching plain and simple.
Hatch, Durley, Grisk, and Ellis I believe. Hatch has improved, Grisk has no knees and Durley is well Durley. Now Ellis you can complain about I guess but from what I can tell that seems to be more on him than coach.
Last years team was nothing more than the turd Turg left in the toliet when he left town. Don't give me this 2 guys who played in the S16 crap. The team that made it to the S16 was made up of Miller, Wilson, Cooz, Ogirri, Brauer, and Bradley off the bench. Having Cooz and Brauer left doesn't equal anything close to that team. Not knocking Cooz or Matt but trying to act like they alone can win a lot of games is just retarded. Both players without other weapons on the court were limited.
You b**** like a little kid. I want it now    . I'm starting to wonder if my 3 year old boy got an account on here.
oh and the turg comment wasn't meant to rip him and what he did here. Just noting that it was a pretty desperate situation with what was left here.

Aargh,
From another "old fart," I agree with what say.
It is too bad that patience is not a virtue of the "instant gratification generation."
It is also obvious that some of them are in the equine business, because they are good at beating a dead horse.
If anyone had listened to Marshall's post-game comments, I think they would understand that the primary problem is recognized by the coaches.
Thanks for your reasoned comments!

Question: Please tell me I'm still the most hated guy on Shockernet, I cherish that moniker. From page 9 to present things went nuclear around this mug, I love it!
Anyway, most of us love the idea that Shocker basketball should not have to rebuild, just reload. We have great fans, pretty good facilities, a decent tradition, and great coaches. So why are we going experiencing this crap when we have those nice qualities? We had to rebuild in the 90's, and now we are back to rebuilding again. It sucks.
We lost some key recruiting battles, lost a player to death, some transfers, yada-yada-yada. I lack patience and it shows sometimes but really folks, none of us really should be complaining too much about this game. We all knew this would be a loss and it's not like we have had success up there anyway. Even our best teams continue to lose up there. If we play like this against Indy State, then feel free to go nuclear.
