Just kind of ironic when someone started a thread comparing Marshall to Smithson, ShockerFever belittled the guy for starting a moronic thread. But when you look at the ingame posts, he makes that guy sound like little bo peep in his criticisms. Logic please?

Most pathetic inability to score in the paint I can remember from a Shocker team (carried over from last year)....

I saw a lot of positives from Stutz. Yeah, he missed some bunnies, but there were a lot of CU drives to the basket where they altered and missed shots just because there was a really big guy down there.

There are negatives and positives about Stutz right now. There are going to be negatives and positives about any Fr that gets a lot of minutes at this stage of the season, unless that Fr is headed for the NBA next year. Even those guys have negatives in their games.

If it was possible to bring Stutz on a little slower, that would be nice, but he's the only true post player on the team. He's getting experience that's more likely to produce wins in future years than this year.

Right now Stutz is not pulling his share. In fact, the team plays better when he is not on the floor. Faster? I'm not sure he is capable. He is also too easy to draw out of the paint while on defense, and allows layups to blow right past him. His hedges are incomplete and accomplish little, and he can't hold a block in the paint. He has a long ways to go, and so far has not shown much progress in the 7 months with the team.

The blame is now with Marshall. Marshall is now getting exposed for his coaching defencies. I see no offennse and team that is board line Juco. Juco I mean four guys standing and one guy pentrating. This might have worked at Winthrop but not here.

Marshall is no Smithson. Marshall's offensive is certainly nothing like Smithson's.

Just because our offense doesn't look like Smithson's, doesn't mean it looks gorgeous either.

Coach was also pissed about what he percieved CU running up the score (by running a lob-dunk in-bounds play with less than a minute left). Basically said their will be retribution for that (someday).

Marshall also called out Altman and CU on running a lob alley-oop play up 16 with 50 seconds left after the timeout. He said 'that would come back to haunt them'. I like that. I hope it's sooner rather than later.

The only difference between Marshall and Smithson is $600,000. They run the same pathetic Juco Offense.

Winthrop was 0-9 last I looked. Marshall can recruit and coach. WSU will be a frustrating team to watch this year. One step backward and one or two steps forward. That's just the way it will play out.

Stutz needs a pass. We all know he needed to be red-shirted, but he is a victim of circumstance this season. Yes, the offense is better when he's on the bench, but you gotta give the guys down low a breather not to mention out of foul trouble so he had to play this season.

When he is a senior and averaging 18 pts a game, we will all be saying damn! why couldn't he have red-shirted way back when so we could have him around another season, but circumstance turned out to be a beeyotch for the guy this year.

Not sure I understand that last question. No, the way you describe our offense with 55 negative posts during a game, it must be much worse. You're pretty tough basking in anonymity aren't you?

and I guess it his fault that the big men can't hit any bunnies. Guards who can't dunk or layup or hit open shots.

I can see where Marshall is going. It going to be 2 years before this team will be able to compete for the top spot.

Whatever Marshall did at Winthrop, it worked! Without him, they're now 1-10 and were down to Florida 53-11 at half today. Or perhaps you'd rather have the guy who said he turned us down. He's now 3-11 after today. I don't believe Marshall will settle for the kind of effort shown tonight, but I do believe there is a lot of upside potential to this team as we've seen in other games this year.

Not only can they not hit bunnies, how many times did I see Durley with the ball within 5 feet from the basket and lose it to others hitting out of his hands. He has to go up strong and make baskets from that close.
