Picked up athlon sports preview today and they have us at 7th just like lindys. just thought i'd share with everyone.

They are just being realistic. With Turgeon leaving the program in shambles they are not going to pick us any higher. We lost nearly all of our starters and we lost nearly all of our recruits (with the top one following Turgeon to A&M).

The only real saving grace for this season is the fact that all of the other Valley schools also lost a lot. And we have a great new coach in Gregg Marshall who did an incredible recruiting job to replace the lost players.

The future looks bright for WSU, but this year is a definite re-building year- a prediction for a 7th place finish is not surprising.

The year Paul Miller won the Valley MVP, I do not remember one publication predicting that. Actually, I am not sure many of them even picked him Pre-Season 1st Team All Valley. That same year, the Shocks were not picked that high Pre-Season in the Valley and we won the Valley and made it into the Sweet 16. It seems like around 5th was the prediction norm for us? Or was it 7th?
