    He would RS if a "deal" was struck to get him there.

    There's a kid at Hutch this year who redshirted last season but was one of the best players on the team (according to my sources). So it's not out of the realm of possibility for EO to RS at TRCC.

      Fairly common, actually.

        If he redshirts at TRCC and we get all the paperwork from Nigeria, he''ll still have 4 years of playing eligiblity, right? If we don't get the paperwork, he'll have another year at TRCC to graduate, leaving 3 years of eligibilty.
        What happens if there is still no paperwork? Does that mean his remaining 3 years of eligiblity would have to be played at a D-II school? Or, do they also need the same paperwork?

          His AA degree would make him D-1 eligible.

            Okay, thanks.

            Has EO said what his major was going to be? If he was going to be like his dad, I would think it would be an Associate of Science (AS) degree.

              Does anyone know how many hours it takes to complete an AA degree? Hasn't he completed some college credit already? Any possibility in him getting it completed by next summer?

                I believe it is 64 credit hours for an AA.

                    When I got my A.A. degree in Business, it was 60 hours.

                    Here are the majors for the Math, Science, and Technology branch of TRCC:

                    * Agriculture
                    * Biology
                    * Chemistry
                    * Civil & Construction Technology
                    * Diversified Technology
                    * Education
                    * Forestry 7
                    * Mathematics
                    * Physical Science
                    * Drafting Technology
                    * Environmental/Occupational Health & Safety

                    They do not seem to have anything specific for Engineering (Which EO's dad is an Engineer). I believe his mother is a Teacher.

                    The good news is that if EO does not Redshirt, then:

                      As an alum of HCC with some insights into that situation, I can confirm several of the previous posts: FIRST, most of the top-tier conference schools are out of spots this time of year; SECOND, Hutch (its great tradition and 2 Natl C-ships notwithstanding) is a little down right now. Three Rivers is a quality program with excellent coaching depth after many years under Gene Bess.

                      While the Jayhawk Conf is the deepest conference in the country for raw talent and most D-1 recruits, it is thin in coaching. Mostly just a group of "Roll the ball out and run" style.

                      The clear exception is Coach Eck who, contrary to the critics on this site, teaches the game in much the same way that Coach Marshall does: Defensive discipline, transition and intelligent choices from the point. They will dominate the JJC as long as he is there, so get used to dealing with him.

                      Coach Marshall will see this (if he hasn't already) and we will see him after some Tigers in the years ahead.

                        No one has ever said that Coach Eck is not a great coach. How has he helped WSU in the past? Make a list, on one side write down the things he has done for our program and the players that played for him at South High or the Juco in OLK that did come to WSU On the other side put things he has done to hurt or program and player he has sent to other progams. I think you will see why Steve Eck is not a friend of Wichita State.

                              In case anyone missed it, Coach Marshall talked about Coach Eck back on the Coach's Show on February 25, 2008. Just go to around the 57:15 minute mark.
