Dear Mr. and Mrs. Orukpe,
Thanks for all your efforts in making it possible for your tall, talented son to come nearly halfway around the world to attend school and play basketball for my humble alma mater.
I know it's not always easy to part with a loved one, particularly a son or daughter, and in spite of new gadgets, technology, etc...there is still an enormous amount of difficulty in keeping touch at such remote distances.
Your trust in allowing Ehimen to come to America, learn new skills, adapt to a new culture, and find his own way as a young adult means a lot to myself, as well as a lot of other people who he interacts with.
I will enjoy watching as Ehimen grows and progresses as both a student and athlete. I have no doubt that he will get off to a great start here in Wichita, Kansas.
