RIP Ted Bredehoft

Former Shocker AD Ted Bredehoft passed away this morning at the age of 85. He had failing health the last several months and passed away under hospice care at Via Christi St. Francis. He was an innovator to say the least. RIP Ted!!!

Camel races and a ski slope at Cessna Stadium will likely never be seen again. It was really hard to get people to show up to watch the football team WSU put on the field when Ted was the AD.

Ted lived about a block from me when I was a kid. Thanks for letting us play baseball ⚾️ in the backyard Mr Bredehoft! RIP

Ted was quite the salesman and a guy who wasn't afraid to think outside the box and try just about anything. A good guy, well liked, and a good man. A Thinker, Doer, Mover and Shocker for sure.

May he rest in peace.

In 1986, WSU played Arizona State in Tempe, AZ, in their last football game. Ted Bredehoft arranged for a big booster party before the game at Rustler's Roost near S Mountain. At that time, Rustler's Roost had more customers for meals than any other restaurant in the SW U.S.

There were a lot of WSU boosters who flew down for the occasion. After we had lunch, Ted had arranged for buses to take us all to the the ASU Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe. The WSU football game ended up losing the game by a score of around 7-56. Little did I know at the time that it was to be the last time WSU ever played a football game. It was also the last time I ever saw Ted Bredehoft, too, as I lived in Mesa, at the time,

Informative accounting. I fondly remember SSS but had no idea it lasted 17 years....that's a little hard to believe actually.

Actually purchased it during the Smithson era of the 90's.
